I read my kids a bed time story every night and I am looking for some that are christmas related. Growing up I remember one story that captured me but it was in french called "Le petit sapin" translated as "The Little Christmas tree" The book had a page for every day from December 1st to Christmas Eve. In shot it was about a christmas tree that was sad cause he was too small to be picked to go into the house and get decorated but in the end the grows up and gets his turn, this happens on Christmas eve.
Edited to add,.. This is the book, but ordering it won't get here on time.

I am looking for ideas on any children Christmas stories that I can perhaps download or get at the library as this time I can't find that one in particular,.. Winging it from memory just wouldn't be the same /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

i love your book tree!!!!!
not exactly christmas, but winter and so beautifully written and illustrated, "the hat" and "the mitten" by jan brett. "the little match girl", "the gift of the magi", and "the prince and the sparrow" are just beautiful, old stories. they all make me cry in a good way.
i used to work at a book store, and i remember some nice moral, loving and helpful christmas spirit type books came out, but im stumped to remember them right now.
are you thinking of all types of stories, santa and snowmen as well as religious and thought provoking, or just one style? i know you said youve found lots, but now my brain is thinking... ...
