Well at least your not asking if anyone has a spare Ventolin this time. Good job!

Sounds like you ended up with Salbutimol, Advair and most likely 50 mg of Prednisone.
Just some advice, the Prednisone makes your face fat, they call it "moon face" as it retains a lot of water. I hope for your sake you don't have to stay on it very long....I've gained over 100 pounds on it, not very good for the immune system either.

Best of luck with your health!

Ya and go think that being on that for 6 months and almost dying I get made fun of for gaining weight. But then again judging the mentality of the person telling me I am not surprised whatsoever....

I reread the post and I must ask.....is he trying to sell the stuff or is he looking to discuss or just tell everyone?
I'm a tad confused.

Hey 6th, some folks just aren't real smart or nearly as sensitive as the rest of us. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I think he is just mentioning that he now has to use that crap like some of us do..
No doubt it will get moved to health and wellness.

Did you end up going to emerg? Or are these "donations?"

Good for you if you went and saw a Doc, and I agree with the pills...they work wonders but if you are on them long term expect to gain some weight. My son gets them every now and then when he has a lot of trouble, but the doc doesn't reccomend them for long term.

with all the meds i got at the hospital , they gave me 3 puffers,1pill container of steroid pills that keep my airways open. I got there at 1pm yesterday and took my number and as soon as she seen my condition she put me in a room in the emergency department., he finally seen me at 4;30 and wanted to take a chest xray but i told him i had to leave. he said by the sounds of my lungs it could be something worse.. but i'm not coughing up any phlegm , so i'm not to concerned.

Jeezus man...30-40 smokes a day, the doc says it could be "something worse".... and you're not worried because you're NOT coughing up phlegm??? I'd be worried by the fact you're NOT coughing it up. I think you'd best get that chest x-ray

I'm sorry that you are in the situation you are, lots of us have lung problems too. I wasn't trying to accuse you of selling stuff, just the way you worded your first post could've been read lots of ways.

Just a warning about your smoking, I don't care if you do or don't, but....
I had to have part of my lung taken out, they said they wouldn't have bothered with me so quickly if I had been a smoker. I was told that "why would we put in the time and effort to make you better if you aren't willing to help yourself and if you smoked, you'd be just ruining all the hard work we do on you".

And the lung specialist isn't taking new patients so if you turned down his help, you may not get it again. I think you should've taken the help at the time. Dying young doesn't sound scary until you are face to face with it.

Glad you can breath now /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
Quitting smoking is easier said than done, I've tried many, many, many times
hopeully you can cut down on that because smoking that much will make it worse, but I noticed also that I needed my ventolin more for a while when I quit smoking for the times I managed to for a little while, I noticed it goes away when I managed to quit for almost a year
(I can't even tell you why I started back up again /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif )
