i recently got a cell phone from the source and was told that i woundn't have a bill for 3 months.was told the bill would be only(lol) $37 a month. well well well, i got the bill yesterday and it's for $96. i called rogers and was told there was no promotion and that i should never have been told so. i specifically asked what the bill would be each month and was told $37(at the source) was told the activation fee was waived($35). was also told talk all you want as for the first three months as it was free incoming/outgoing calls and free text messaging.can anyone help me or give me some advice on a course of action.

When I got a cell through Telus I signed a contract that stated exactly what promotions I got, for how long and what my contract would be after those promotions were up. I would never go to the Source, Wireless Wave, Rogers Video, Future Shop, etc to start a contract with a cell company - always go to the actual company stores where the employees are very familiar with the pricing and plans.

There's really nothing you can do unless you signed a contract stating that you would get the stuff you say you were told you would get.

Be persistent, don't back down.

Don't back down for sure, get your papers ready and stand your ground.

It cost me over $600 to ditch Rogers for our family plan, I won't even go there. Lots of stuff they "forget" to inform you of.

Read the promo.

It's unlimited talking and texts for 3 months. Not "FREE".

Don't blame the source for your short commings LOL

I saw the same promo when I went to go by the blackberry.

PLus, LEGALLY, you have the right to get out of any contract within 30 days. Only loop hole is DON'T USE THE PHONE. If you use over 30 minutes on the phone, they don't have to return it.

So don't use it, if you have used over 30 minutes, then your done.
