Anyone know the Orange house on Pim St. When you're going towards Wellington it's on the right hand side. Something about that house gives me the creeps. I've never been inside but everytime I go past it I get this weird feeling that someone is watching people from that house. Weird EH! I'll have to pay more attention to the number on the house next time!!
Okay I've got the address if anyone is interested just email me I don't want to post it here incase the people living in the house see it.

I know the yellow house on the corner of Pim and Wellington is haunted. A friend of mine use to live in one of the appartents on the main floor at the side. In her bedroom was the door to the basement. I do have to say that basement is one of the creapiet I have ever seen. Anyways every night while she was sleeping the basement door at the foot of her bed would open. It happened every night. She would get up and close it and it would just open up again.
Her cupboards and drawers in her kitchen and also in her bedroom would all be open when she would wake up in the morning.

Either someone's buying it or renting it out. But if you watch the house...there's a forsale sign on the house about every 3-6 months for the last few years.
In the past i've heard of a few people staying there and saying it was haunted.

Well, I'd be in for some ghost seeking. I know of many places around town that have certain history. There's more hauntings in this city than people would like to acknowledge. I have some pretty creepy night shots of Queen St, with mist objects swirling around my friends.

sweet that would be awesome . I was thinking a great place to check out would be the bayview tavern in Bruce Mines, i heard a german family bought it and are restoring it, and im sure if we asked them they would let us take some pictures and we could askk them if the noticed anything strange. My friend chris 's grandpa used to own it and there was a bar attached to it but in the house there was a couple of rooms locked off where people hung thereself or died and the attic is where the original family kept their child who was mildly retarded or something until it died. I was going up the stairs with chris one night to check it oput after we got a hold of the keys, Art always kept it locked. anyways we didnt even make it up the stair cuz we both got a feeling so sick in our stomachs almost like a primal fear instinct or something that we didn't want to go any farther. but i would love to go back and try again. anyways im up for checking anyplace out. pm me

Well, with all this talk about Camp Korah, I am going up there to investigate the whole area. I am sensitive, so I will know where the spots are. I am also going to investigate Point Des Chenes, as there was a ship building yard located there in the 18th century, as well as the site for of a Jesuit Mission. I'll let you know which is more worth the trip. Cheers!

Okay, my trip to Camp Korah was uneventful when going near Nettle Lake (name?); so I jumped in my car, turned around and headed back. But something told me to go down Anich Rd, and when I did, I distinctly felt something was off and it was towards the camp property. Oddly, i took some pictures and caught a haze surrounding a light pole, which was just sitting there in the middle of an empty field, not connected to any power lines around it. My thoughts are telling me that some building used to be in this empty/abandoned field, and perhaps some of the paranormal activity stems from this mystery.
As for going to Point Des Chenes, my trip was cut off early due to bad weather.
Keeping you posted!

My brother went to Kinsmen park because his friends told him it was haunted. He "doesn't" believe in ghosts so he decided to check it out. He rode his bike there after dark and went and sat up by the falls with his camera. He said that he started to hear footsteps on the boardwalk thing there, and expected to see someone, but never did. He just thought it was his imagination. As he sat there he could hear crunching in the bush, but never though anything of it. Then he started to hear, "I'm coming......". He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around to see a dark haired figure dressed in all white, which looked kinda like an old frilly nightgown. He said he screamed like a little girl and ran, and never went back. I think he believes in ghosts now.

there are alot of people that say"I don't believe or ya ok, whatever" until they actually experience it for themselves.. That definitely changes your outlook on spirits/ghosts.. I know i used to be one of the nonbelievers..

If you want a through, authentic scientific investigation, I would suggest Ontario Ghosts and Haunting Research Society at http://www.ontarioghosts.org/ or Paranormal Studies and Investigations Canada at http://www.psican.org/ . You can study their sites, and by the way, they don't trespass on other peoples property, which of course is a bonus.

WhatPeople tend to believethat cemetaries are full of Earthbound souls when in fact the soul is not earth bound to stay near it's decomposing body, and probably will not be found there-Unless they passed away on that land. (Earthbounds don't like to travel)
Best way to capture a spirit on camera is to find a vortex or a hot spot.
If there' sno lighting or sun spots , glares around or dust-and you get coloured orbs, you can be more positive it's a spirit!
Pretty cool-just my take on it /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
Another thing that people forget is that we have a lot of loved ones from the otherside visiting us, so you can virtually take your camera anywhere and if you ask them too-perhaps you'll catch them on the cam. I've done this many times! I don't post the photos b.c they are mostly with relatives in them-However, I was at a Hindu prayer ceremony and while they prayed I saw a light hover over my head. I asked someone after to snap a pic, and got a form on it!-I can pm that to anyone who asks, it's just a matter of me finding it. I just don't want to post for all to see my face haha. :p

the eastgate hotel.
a long while before the eastgate reopened i had to work there at night, alone. the building is pretty large and has many dark corners. it also has quite the histoy. if my memory serves me correct it used to be a stable before the algonquin was built. in fact the basement still has stalls. the short brick tunnel whose large step stone shows the decades of wear. the support beams are immense btw. there were three additions added over the years. anyway, i had to get some supplies from the basement so i headed down the stairs into the laundry room. this was a newer section. here is where the sinking feeling began and as i passed through the first doorway (stalls to the left) i started to get an uneasy feeling and the urge to turn back. as i tried to dismiss these feelings i continued to the older parts of the large dark musty room. i reached the end of the room where it was illuminated from a small light about 30 feet away, i really couldnt see all that well. i then though i heard someone walking upstairs. figuring its was the resident "old dude" that doubled as the night watchman. i started to get a crawling sensation and the fight or flight response kicked in. (flight, cant fight what u cant see) i hear the footsteps walk quickly and somwhat heavily across the floor towards the stairwell. knowing "old dude" didnt wealk that fast for anything, i told myself i was crazy, i also didnt want to look over my right shoulder. the faint light was dimming like light that passes through glass that is starting to get a dark brown smoke behind it. it got cold and i could see a large shadow and it wasnt in contact with the floor. i snatched my supplies and when i turned to make an exit the shadow was gone and i was shaken for the rest of the night. i asked the old dude if he had come in at all. he shook his head no. i told him what happened and he replied " lots of crazy thigs happen here." "i know i used to own this place and ive worked here for thiry years"
this story is better, :>

not sure who would remember Cody school just across the way from st basils they tore it down a few years ago and have built a new subdivision in there. But it was haunted....omg I was so afraid of the place. I know I was just a young girl and a lot of big buildigns are scary to little girls but this was more then just scary. Now when I talk to people that know anything about that old school others have said the same thing. I would love to know and don't know where Iwould find out but would love to find out if something bad every happened to anyone there. Because there was just something dark and not right with the place. I don't think it was evil but it was just dark. The next time I had that feeling was about 15 months ago when a girl in Ottawa went missing and while I was living there.... two days after she went missing I was driving in a rural area and I got this dark not right feeling...a few hours later cops had that section of the road blocked off. Her body was found just off the road from where I had driven. Which means her body was there when I drove past...but it is the fact that when I got to work I told people of the feeling I had and then a few hours later we found out that this is what happened. This is how I felt when I was in that school...it was just a dark heavy feeling. And when you went to the basement to the washrooms I would get goosebumps and it really really wasn't right down there.

Babzz

I hav also had some odd things happen to me..
Mine comes in dreams
When I lived in hamilton a little girl was missing. This of course really played on me and I dreamt a horrible dream that she was in a carport and there was blood all over and she was had been murdered. A very disturbing dream. The following day on the news I heard that she was found in a carport and that her dad had gased her in there /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
I also dreamt that my mom was going to pass a couple weeks before she did. The dream freaked me out and i made a promise to myself that I would spend more time with her, and I did . Two weeks later is she passed away. I was very gratful for that dream.
The last time I saw her before the heart attack, she walked me to the door and waved like I was from out of town or something. Usually it was just kind of see you later when I was going home from a day of visiting her.

I have always had those feelings. I have dreams that come true. I at times can predict things and I have a very strong intuition. I am aura sensitive to both humans and animals but it seems to be stronger in animals. I am not saying I am psychic or can predict things...It is not consistent but it happens. I would love to learn to be able to tap into it more often. I don't really get spooked easily, I have worked in a haunted house in the past and the spirit and I had an understanding and it never bothered me. Although it bothered other people. To some it sounds like I am talking non sense, but I am thinking people here would understand what I am saying.

four years ago i was walking down the street and i found myself planning my boyfriend's(and baby's daddy) funeral and what i would wear....as i was on my way to see him... i told myself i was just being morbid, but a couple months later he was murdered... since then he's come to me in dreams, he used to mess with my stuff all the time, and i am not the only one who witnessed it... i'd go out and leave the balcony door open, only to come home to find it locked..... electrical devices messed up around me almost daily for a long time.... even at other peoples places. i was at a freinds house one day and i started telling her that i had a spirit following me and that he was always around..all of a sudden the lamp switched off and it hasn't worked since... my favorite thing that happened was when my music kept muting and it seemed like the words that played were giving me a message from him.....i haven't had anything happen to me lately but i think it's because i have a new bf and he is really good to me, so kenny see's that i'm alright...i also smudged and did a prayer so he could move on... i still feel him around me though but he seems to come and go now.
my first experience with the a spirit was a shadow that i saw in the bush near my house when i was about 12...i still see shadows often, especially of animals, but the first time it happened it was really disturbing, and terrifying. it was crouched over and when it noticed me it got up and 'ran' away... i've also gotten messages from my friends mom who is passed on, that there was something for her in her mom's room under a box, and when we went looking my friend found an unfinished sewing progect that her mom had written 'hope for the best and cope with the rest... i've also seen things like windows opening on their own and my clock going backwards but only for a few minuts..bf saw it too so i know i am not crazy...lol

Camp Korah-Nettleton lake,my father told me that there were a couple of drowning deaths at that lake years back.
There is an underwater cave there and there was an old mine in the woods.
He didnt like that area and always said it was haunted.
I wanted to buy that log house by the lake back in the 80s,it was being sold by the bank.I told my father it would be a good investment and we should get it but he was dead set against it.
I used to walk up in that area in the early morning before sun up and sometimes at night.
A lot of that area is private property now.The old Korah ranges that the Army used are even out of use now and a lot of that is being sold.
Cody school-I went there for two years in the 60s,down in the basement there were these weird arches that were all bricked in.
Nobody seemed to know what used to be behind them.

Its the history of the area and how my father felt about it.
When I was young we used to go hunting in that area,he still thought the lake was haunted though.
The Korah Ranges were in use up until 2 years ago.
As far as my beliefs go,I dont discuss religion/paranormal activities very much at all.Its more of a personal thing unless your with people you have known for years and can discuss things without starting a fight.

A bunch of horses drowned in the camp korah lake a long long time ago, all at once over night. For some reason they all jumped in and succumbed to the freezing waters. Over the years some people have drowned in it as well. There used to be a big cross up there.

if anyone wants to come and check out a creepy house you can all come over to my house. I swear their is something wrong with my house. Sine i moved in i have always had a creepy feeling like some one else was in my house with me. ONe time i had a friend over and he and i were sitting in the living room and watching tv. We both heard noise upstairs and i figured it was my son who was supposed to be in bed. So i went upstairs ready to give him heck for not being in bed like he was supposed to be but he was sound asleep. i checked around and their was nothing... But this noise happens almost daily and it is all day. I have kind of tuned it out but it is still scarry. Some nights it is so bad that i will sleep on my couch and not go upstairs. Also another time we were watching a movie and all of a sudden we hear from the kitchen a huge bang. LIke something heavy fell. We both went to the kitchen and looked and nothing had fallen and all the cupboards were closed and i nothing else was on the floor. I had no pets at this time either so i cant even blame it on them. Their have been times when my friend would tell the intruders to leave us alone. Does not always work. My mom will not go into my dinning room. She sais it just feels evil. My aunt's first time in my house and she felt like it was cold and like someone was watching her. I have this big black mirror at the top of my stairs that came with the house. Almost everyone that comes into my house will tell me that they do not like that mirror and will want to leave my upstairs as soon as possible. I don't know. it is just weird and creepy. My tv does stupid stuff too. It will turn on byitself. It has no timer. Does not turn on the same time every night. But between 2 and 4 ish in the morning it will turn on by itself. I got this tv from my parents when they upgraded and when they had it in their house and when i lived their it never did this. I even took the batteries out of the remote to try to stop it from doing this. And it never did that in my old house either. again i am not the only one who this had happened to. Also one night i was spending the night at a friends house and i woke up in the middle of the night with this feeling in my stomach like i was going to throw up... with a feeling that was telling me that i needed to go home and this was like 4 am. I drive home and standing outside my house is a person whome i have a restraining order against because of past issues... this was at 4 am.. anywho i call the cops and all that crap but the fact that i just woke up from a dead sleep with the urge to go home ... is just crazy .

Hello,
I seem to remember reading a post on these boards years ago, about a creature that lived at Camp Korah, that was like a large, man sized insect. I cannot seem to find the post. I believe the poster reffered to it as the Hercubee, or something. Does anyone know anything about this old story? Is it a local legend that kids scare each other with? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I heard something about the house in the woods there being haunted and just plain creepy and also about a man who used to live there and murdered a bunch of people, mainly children, I believe. I have nothing to back this up, this is just what I have heard. I have also never been there to vouch for the creepiness of it. Hope that helps at least a little??

May I inquire as to what "house" you are referring to or the general area of the home's location? I am an investigator and would like to know details if I can so as to assess the situtation and bring my team out there.
Thanks from the SSM P.R.G.
