View Full Version : Need an alternative to Bell for downloading

12-18-2007, 08:35 PM
I'm using Sympatico right now and I was happy with the 340kbs I was getting from Bitsoup torrents but now that number has gone down terribly thanks to what I assume is Bell's new P2P throttling.

I used to have Shaw but they would call and shut be off occasionally because I download a lot. Is there an ISP out there that's gonna help me get back the speed but without the monthly download cap?

Is that company comparable to the sympatico speeds? sorry I'm good at using the internet but I don't know squat about the inner workings.

I'm using their Premium DSL package and I'm getting better speeds than I did with bell.

You guys can actually form a group with Teksavvy, and if you all join the group, you get discounted pricing. I think it is $27.00/month or something..You would have to call them..

They also have a refferal thing, where for every person you refer, you get $1.00 off/month, as long as your referral is a customer. So 30 referalls = free connection /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Yeah, what he said. If you're going to sign-up let me know so that I can get the referral. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

By the way, it says 5MB service but my router always reads:
Connection Speed:
Incoming: 6016 kbps
Outgoing: 800 kbps
and speed tests are always between 5 & 6MB

maybe i'll just stop paying bell and when they cut me off, ill switch.

That's probably not the best idea you ever had.
Cancel your bell and wait the 30 days and sign-up with someone else.
