i like shaw internet but cable no no no no not the digital anyway. You know how the menu is with bell expressvu? The channel listings on the display can be set to show just the subscribed channels and you can flip thru the channels with the remote. Shaws throws all possible channels on the screen and when using the up down button on the remote it goes thru all the channels whether subscribed to or not. By the time you find something to watch that your subscribed to it's over lol, and expressvu is cheaper.

Shaw is messing around with profiles in this city. This evening I noticed I was downloading at around 18 Mbit/sec and 1 Mbit/sec up.
I should only be getting 10/1 at best.
Hopefully it stays like this forever, but I doubt it.
You wont hear me complain, lol.

For the people that are living in their internet cave.....

http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/ProductsServices/Internet/PowerBoost/

http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/CustomerCare/InternetSupport/Residential/PowerBoostFAQs.htm

QUOTE: "PowerBoost is included with Xtreme-I service and is available to Shaw High-Speed Internet customers for $2.95 per month."

FREE SERVICE FOR US EXTREME CUSTUMERS!!!

HOWEVER....
NOW OVER A YEAR AND STILL "BLEEPING" WAITING FOR NITRO!!!
NOW THAT'S UNEXCUSABLE!!!

Look a bit closer. Powerboost is not available in this area yet.

This is not powerboost, as the speed stays up and above 15 Mbits/sec, regardless of how long the file is.
Powerboost is supposed to only work on the first 10 meg of a file.

I think they are "testing" their network as a preparation for Nitro speed.

Speed tests wont show if they are throttling p2p traffic.

Your right....it wont....but the purpose of my test was to show the average speeds that I am getting on Shaw. I highly doubt that Shaw is throttling speeds anyways as I have downloaded a few large files in under 15 mins.
