View Full Version : hamburger sale

I know some people don't or won't eat the hamburger that comes in tubes, but for those who do, Romes has theirs on for $.50/lb. They had it on for $1.00/lb, but had a bunch left, so they cut the price in half again. Just thought I'd pass it on. The sale was over today, but they said it will continue until the meat's all gone.

Yup it does but I find the meatballs suck up alot of the gravy and when you bite into one it explodes with flavour.

I've been buying it evr since it started going on sale for 99 cents a pounds a couple of years back, and I've never had a bad tube, and I've never gotten sick. I've even left it in the fridge longer than I should have accidentally before cooking it, and have NEVER gotten sick. As I said in the original post, not everyone eats the stuff, but for those who do, it's bargain of the century. I bought 80 pounds of it. LMBO

I buy the tube stuff "Extra lean" and the is no grease to drain after browning. Its the same hamburger as anything else but in a odd packaging.
Not like it? Why is there gourmet Hamburger or something?

quarter pounders and beer... on welfare?
Gourmet beef comes from cattle that listen to Bach and Beethoven. Those are the cows featured in the Far Side Cartoons..
you know, the ones that walk on their hind legs and drink tea when no one is looking?

Just got back from Rome's. Lots of burger left and It's medium ground which is the best of all the tube burger b I've been buying tube meats since I first say them. they are great for making a big sauce or chili.
Even burgers are good with the medium ground.. Not too fatty just enough for flavour. And you can't bet the price I might just have to go back for more

Because they would waste all the extra time and money packaging it up like that if it were? Doesn't make much sense to me.
It's just ground up somewhere else as opposed to the stuff that they grind right in the grocery store. I've bought it before to try it and there was absolutely no difference in taste or amount of fat... and I lived to tell the tale!
