I have always thought about where the name came from. Such a great name for a metal band

The band's name was inspired by information about the then local state-run insane asylum, which presently stands as California State University Channel Islands.

I was listening to them in the mid 80s

You might also want to check out Infectious Grooves the bass player Robert Trujillo also played for them as well. Kind of a funk metal sound.

Jason Newsted was amazing as well ... and lets not forget .. Cliff

Cliff was the only real bass player for Metallica! Robert is wicked, a freakin' machine. Hopefully if they do an album with him it may have some of the tasty stylings of Cliff. Just my opinion, but Jason didn't do to much outside the box, more of a hired hand really. I may get hammered for this, but its jut an opinion.

Give that Infectious Grooves a listen (singer from Suicidal Tendencies is in that project as well) nice funky/heavy [censored]!
