Just wondering what everyone else likes for dessert? Ice cream is getting kind of boring (and fattening, lol). Any ideas??

A winner in our house is berries on sponge cake.
We buy frozen berries in the winter
You can get individual sponge cakes at A&P in the bakery
we defrost the berries in the microwave.
top the sponge cakes with the berries and then top with some wipped cream or pancake syrup.
It's still sweet and then my son is getting some fruit at the same time!

I make the low fat jello and put it in individual bowls and top with low fat whipped cream. It's a big hit for my kids and hubby too.

we do strawberries whenever they are on sale, whole family loves that for dessert.
not so healthly but very easy are the rice krispie squares.
and not healthy, but soooo good to fix up your ice cream is melted peanut butter poured over the ice cream then chocolate-milk-chocolate- sauce stuff poured over that, and if you have cool whip top it off with that, if not, it doesnt matter.
edited to add lemon lime sherbert!

Try Capman's Frozen Yogurt (not the sorbet).....the best one is Cappuchino ...just as good as ice cream but a bit less fat. You can buy it any grocery store....Food Basics is probably the best price but it does go on sale once in awhile

A little high in Carbs but tastes great. You know the parfaits that they sell in the grocery stores and at McDonalds?
Just layer these all in order in a bowl or cup.
layer1: Danone Creamy Vanilla yogurt
layer2: Frozen or fresh fruit, my faves are rasberries. (pure rasberry fruit spread works too)but you can use strawberries, etc.
layer3: More yogurt
topping: Quaker Harvest Crunch Original cereal.
And it doesn't cost you $3.99/bowl. It is exactly what they do at the stores but the granola is still crunchy. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
