in my reasearch for a suitable weight loss surgery i found information about the lapband, and it scared me. my site is http://www.clos.net and there is information about the lapband on there. i dont know that it is biased, but the site is for bypass, so it may be somewhat.

my surgery was/is completely reversable, and covered by ohip and was/is permanent too.

Lapband is not covered by OHIP.

The lap band surgery is a restrictive surgery meaning that it only restricts how much food can be digested at a time. Nothing physically is changed inside the body.

initially nothing physical is changed inside the body, however over time the lapband causes severe damage to the stomach and surrounding tissues, many many people have to have them removed for many reasons. Please do your research.
