Messy yard is one thing, but currently a township in Algoma is trying to make a by-law about having your grass cut a certain length. Not just your yard, but your ditches as well. And to top it off, they are suggesting that they should be permitted inside your house as well to make sure it's not messy.

I think something like that is out of control. Now the seniors will have to crawl into the ditches and make sure the grass is at the correct level. My Mom is one of those seniors. I hope the township doesn't get away with that, it's going too far.

Oh, and I have a very messy yard, full of trucks, campin stuff, etc. My yard is lived on/in. I can't stand the wacky folk who cut their grass in the criss-cross pattern and prune their trees obsessively. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif (I'll never understand)

My old neighbour from down the line went a whole summer without cutting his grass. Then fall came and he never raked his leaves. Then spring came and the grass was all dead under the wet leaves and so on and so on and so on. Then they left their large dog out all day/night/year letting it [censored] where ever it wanted, car parts scattered. This happened when they inheritted the house and only took 2 years.

We had a rental house ,I happend to be there painting and a cat peed on the new screen door ,The cat ran next door under the house next door I went over to tell them that they have a mess to clean up ,The lady said it wasn't her cat but she would come over and help clean up after the cat.I thought was quite nice of her. People should be more responsible for thier cats..

Giggle Squirt
01-26-2008, 10:55 PM
I agree.. I can't stand loose cats in my yard.. I keep my cat tied up outside, just like i keep my dog on leash.. And yes people laugh at me because i walk my cat on a leash... well would you rather me let my cat pee on your flowers and dig in your kids sand box? It all comes down to respect and responsibility. Not only does keeping a clean yard benefit you, but it also benefits your neighbours and bring pride to a neighbour hood.

Pet people live like animals thats why they don't think it's dirty or smell anything. They all think their house is clean but other people would just puke when they walk in.

When we lived on peoples road up past fourth line during the summer time you were sure to see a bear. One day there was one big one strolling down the middle of the street without a care in the world. Once hubby came home at night and the bear was in the front yard and would not let him get out of the car. I was always scared to go outside with my son because if we were in the backyard i had to go to the front of the house to get inside.

We used to put our garbage in the wooden bin outside and the bears completely destroyed it. We also lived right beside an old scrap yard so our place always looked nasty on the outside.

#1 About the grass rule. They aren't going to be out with a rule measuring making sure your grass is exactly 4.3 inches.

They are making sure to it doesn't get passed 10 or something stupid.

You all always think the government municipal/provincial/federal are nazis who are out to destroy your way of life.

People don't like to have neighbours with messy yards (As this topic states), but when something is passed to do something about it, you all rant and rave!!!

I want this city to put a bylaw in making sure people clean up their yards, and cut their lawn!

ITS ABOUT TIME!

I was watching this program about it, they receive their cheque as usually, but they also get an additional $1.90 an hour for working, on top of what they usually make.

So it is a motivation to get off, but gives you experience to work.

Mon-weds they work, Thursday and friday job hunt, and you get the weekend off.
