A, if you ain't being paid enough to buy whatever you need so you can do your work without worry or scrambling to get the best price..... Your time is worth more than that.

Thanks, Barry. But that wasn't my question.:)

I'm a cheapskate at heart. I enjoy making the deal, it's my day off, and this is for personal use.

Aydeloof - if that is sold used, then pass. I got the same machine at Walmart last year for $599 with a 1 year warranty and I've seen similar offered elsewhere for $549. Check out some of the shops for clearance pricing - like Staples.

I see on Dell.ca that you can get laptops starting from 549.00 right now....

I would save money until you can get something really good with everything you need. A laptop is awesome but only if its got what you need on it. If you're gonna make a big investment into something, make a big investment. But that's just my opinion.

Well, I finally found a laptop. It was on sale at Best Buy for 999 plus tax.. got it for 700, no tax. Fella got it as a Christmas gift. Never even opened it. He already had a top of the line Apple Notebook.

Toshiba Core 2 Duo, 2 G ram.. 160 G HD.

Brand new, everything still sealed.

I hope.
