My 5 month old has a cold. Poor little thing. I can giver her tylenol but is there anything else I can do for her? She is wheezing (not in her chest, I listened and you can't here it there and can't feel it in her back) and coughing.

Do you have a vaporizer and some Vicks medicine (liquid) to put in it?
That should help.

Poor babe!

you can also go to walmart and get baby vicks, put it on a cloth or tissue and put it beside her head.

My 9 month old grand daughter is just getting over one, this cold going around is one nasty bug.
We put a pillow under the head of the mattress, and my daughter bought a benelyn plug in mist thingy.
It came with 5 cartridges and provided a cool mist with the mentholatum (sp).
She also cut her first tooth during her cold.
Also, the Puffs tissues with lotion made a huge difference with her runny nose.
Best of luck, like I said its a nasty one.

I went and bought a vaporizer, vicks liquid stuff and baby vicks rub. She was talkative and happy today but seems fussy tonight. She just went down for the night. We have all had colds here. She is the last to get one.

She had a good night but she is wheezing more today. I am calling Dr. Burrows office right now to try and get her in today. I just want to make sure things are OK.

In the mean time you should get yourself a vaporizer and some vicks for it. Always will come in handy down the road as colds come and go.

I stated that I already did that. But thanks!!

dr. Burrows was on call last night so he might not be able to take her today. The GH walk-in is fully booked and that leaves the SAH. Not my ideal choice.

dr burrows is awsome to say the least.. IM sure if they are there you could walk right in there....

I take my two in a bit.. and me and the hubby are sick as well.. this is not good and then there is my middle child with amune system like steel.. the kid is never sick.. but when he is he makes up for all these little colds the rest of us get...

GRRRRRRRrr I hate being sick... but with the little guy getting anomina(sp) twice this yr all ready.. I cannot fool around with even the slightest little cough around here...

I had to take her to the hospital because Dr. Burrows worked on call last night and was double booked. The GH walk-in was booked and they would not put her on the wait list because there was 8 on it already.

She saw Dr....Dr....God I forget! And he was great too (older, heavier set and grey hair - he only works walk-in and use to be a family doctor in the city - Dr. Hisomething). She is wheezie, has a red ear and a very red throat. He did a swab and I will know tomorrow if she has strepp. The poor lamb. We were at the hospital for 4 1/2 hours and she never complained once. What a trooper.

You can tell when her throat is bothering her because of the face she makes and she opens her mouth wide. But she never complains. Her cough is horrible!!

It is 10:32 and I cannot sleep because my baby is coughing like mad in her sleep. Poor dumpling!! I am going to move her to her boucy chair on the floor beside our bed because she will be elavated and I think that might help her coughing. I just don't know if I should wait until she maybe starts to fuss before moving her or if I should just do it now and risk waking her. She is sleeping and she needs rest.

OK, one more cough and I go move her. I can't stand it.

My daughter went through this not that long ago...sleepless nights (she usually sleeps about 12 hours/night) horrible coughing, ****se voice...

I have the Benylin vapo-plug and I put vicks on her feet covered in socks...it's the only thing that seemed to help.

She slept like a rock. Not one cough for the rest of the night. Oh I hear her talking. Gotta go.

She saw Dr. Burrows and she has RSV. My son had it a little older than her and was in the hospital. The doctor said it will go one of two ways this weekend. She will either get better or end up admitted to hospital. It's going to be a tense weekend. Won't be on much.

Keep her in your thoughts and prayers ok. It can be life threatening at her age.
