View Full Version : Harley?

My hubby is buying a harley soon, and all the ones he likes have the front wheel that comes way out. I like the style too, but I notice that none of them seem to come with a seat that accomodates two. He said you can get a "suction cup" seat that attaches to the back fender.

For me, the thought of flying down the highway at 80 miles an hour, sitting on a seat that is "suction cupped" to the bike is...well...I think I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon. LOL Does anyone know anything about these seats?

I'm wondering if I should be checking to see if he increased my life insurance policy. *LOL*

Oh, I did, believe me. *L* I just feel bad that he's worked so hard and waited so long to be able to get one, and now that he can, the ones he likes I'm saying no way.

The kind of redneck that has had 13 bikes in his life, the last of which was a 52 panhead. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Must be a "man" thing...one of my best friend's Hubby is getting his brand new Harley this year too. He can't wait!! Knowing her she'll be making dam sure there's a seat for her, and not no suction cup (yikes!!!) jobee either! LOL!!!

I'm gonna win the one Q104 has up for grabs, then I'll go get my motorcycle license or get Hubby to chauffeur me around on it. Maybe buy me some leather chaps too! /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Thats our retirement plan. A Harley and the open road for the winters and camp for the summer.

We're renting one in Sept in Vegas for a day - I can't wait.

You are on a motorcycle with the best, most secure, comfortable and "attached" seat on the market.

You hit a car.

Oddly enough, your injuries are EXACTLY the same as if you had the "suction cup" stuck to your backside!!!

JackieB, tell him you want your own bike!!!

Jackie B

I think I'd like to live a little longer :), most people have no respect for bikes as I found in the past and damn near got killed twice, once with the "prego" on the back.
Also got a seagull square in the chest one day while driving past Ojibway park, that was smarts!
I think I'll stick to a sports car!
Less bugs in your teeth too!! /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I applaud you hubbies decision but if you are truely going to be involved and I don't mean with your own bike you will hate the idea of a tiny little add on seat. In less than an hr you will be begging him to pull over. Ask him what he plans to do with your feat? You nee a good set of foot pegs to go along with the suction cup seat. He will have to let go of his Peter Fonda dreams and go a little bit more practicle if you are along for the ride. I also like the solo models and especially the new Crossbones but they are extremely impracticle.

You won't be riding on the back of that for long at all!
That's meant to ride one comfortably /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Atleast this one has a backrest. LOL Some other ones he liked didn't.

Jackie B
03-14-2008, 11:40 AM
Oh, if you notice, it has pegs for a backseat rider as well.

J*B
03-14-2008, 11:41 AM
No matter, it would kill you trying to ride on the back of something like that..

Jackie B
03-14-2008, 11:42 AM

Umm......there ain't nobady going to comfortable on that thing. I thought you said he wanted to buy a motorcycle? This is just my humble opinion but I wouldn't be caught dead on a chopper.I would take up knitting before owned one of those.

Over half my bikes have been choppers. I love 'em! Including the '52 Panhead (Harley). Stock bikes don't have enough leg length for me to "stretch out" and feel comfy on long rides.

Uh, doesn't look like too much room for a seat of any kind on that thing. erf.. I wouldn't go for it.
