Floreani is amazing my daughter is almost done, his office is very kid friendly. The other dr. told me that she would need teeth taken out and head gear and when I saw floreani she didn't need either done, her teech are perfect now. Noonw can compare to the bedside manner of him and his staff aswell!!!

I would definitely not recommend Dr. Crawford...I went to him years and years ago, and I had to have 4 of my permanent teeth removed in order for my jaw to go back into place properly so is what he told my parents. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif Of course back once upon a time there wasn't another orthodontist here in the Soo and my parents were told that the one across the river wasn't as good, so needless to say I went to Dr. Crawford. I certainly would never take my children to him if they ever need orthodontic treatment.

My son sees Dr.Crawford, he was reccommended back when we were told he needed braces. I like him, my son likes him and his girls he has working for him. He's very quiet, and if you aren't keeping up with your end (cleaning/flossing properly) he doesn't sugar coat telling you. Which in my son's case is good, keeps him in line with taking care of his braces. My oldest has only had his braces for about 6 months and we can't get over how much his teeth have moved already.

If you do end up going to him, expect to wait awhile (in the waiting room I mean).

My oldest has beautiful teeth thanks to Dr Floreani and staff /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif And thousands of dollars lol My youngest is now in the process. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere for the kids. We have been going to that office for about 7 years now for various orthadontic work. I would highly recommend him and his staff. I know my Niece and Nephews have gone to Dr. Crawford and they like him also.

I am a product of Dr. Crawford. Back in the 80's he was the only one. His "bed side manner" wasn't the greatest.

My sister went to Floreani and was excellent with her.

We both had great results.

Having been a patient of Dr. Crawford's, and now my daughter has seen Dr. Floreani, I would definitely recommend Dr. Floreani. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Crawford to my worst enemy, nor would I take my kids to him if he were the only one in town. Sit and wait in the waiting room? How 'bout sitting for more than 2 hours in the "chair", with two others doing the same (they were teens, I was an adult), no one comes to tell you he's not in yet, and they got snippy with ME for getting up and leaving. I was missing work, not school. I found almost everyone that worked for him developed the same snotty attitude he has. Right down to telling me, an adult, that my hair color sucked. The guys' got more nerve than a busload of toothaches, and wants to do lots of tooth removal and "bone" surgery. He wanted to reconstruct my jaw. For a minor overbite and a minor underbite.

I have already posted under here, however, my results from Dr. Crawford are awesome results...I wish I would have not been given the only option I had at the time, and that was getting 4 permanent teeth pulled from my own dentist. I had alot of problems with my teeth as a child/teenage years. I went to Dr. Crawford back in the 1980's and he did do good work on my teeth...but I wish there was another option at the time like there is nowadays.

My husband went across the river. Apparently the price difference is crazy so you might want to check that option out. Just a thought.

I had Floreani, and besides the fact that his office was SUPER cool as a young one, he and his staff were great. There was never a bad day had by any staff, and if there were, no one ever knew. 4 years after I got my braces off i punched myself in the face ripping a tea towel...(I hit the seam) and chipped 2 front teeth really badly. I called his office and explained what happened and they got me in ASAP, he grinded down the teeth to make it look like nothing ever happened and made sure the other ones got a file and made it beautiful. And the kicker....he never charged me a cent.

My son is currently seeing Dr. Floreani. We absolutely love him. He was my orthodontist 10 years ago when he was pretty new in the Sault. He actually still remembered me when I came in with my son (not sure if that's a good thing though). My son is 10 and thinks he is cool too. My husband had Crawford 10 years ago too and didn't want our kids seeing him. He said it would be fine for an adult, but not really for a younger kid. One thing I thought was awesome with Floreani, I needed to get a night splint a couple months after having my braces taken off. Dr Wong recommended it. I was living on my own and no longer had any coverage. I called Floreani and explained what was happening, he said that it would be best for me and had one made for no cost. He saved me $400 and for a 19 year old with a newborn, that's a whole lot of money. I know I'll be taking my other two kids there as long as he's still around. Too bad you couldn't get a discount for numerous family members.

My son went to him also.. Really nice and man and kid friendly office too. He has computers and games set up while the kids are waiting.

The hard part is being quoted 5000.00 to fix his teeth /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

My son's teeth will be that much too. Right now he has partial braces because he only has 8 adult teeth. The fee is just over $2000. Then when he has all his adult teeth he goes back for another full set and the price will be about the same too. We pay $80/month for 12 months. There was a $600 downpayment when they were put on. It sounds like alot of money, since I'm paying for them. When I told my mom though, she said that my braces cost $4000 and that was back in '95 and I got them off in '97. So when I think about the fact that his prices haven't changed much in 10 years, I can't complain. Since both my husband and I had braces, I knew my kids were. I had severe crowding and don't want my kids to have the crooked teeth I did. It's a sacrifice I make. Bonus is being able to claim it on income tax. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Have you already gone for your consult SLS?
My oldest went to Dr Floreani and we highly recommend him and his staff. She was missing a couple of adult molars on the top which showed up on x-ray when she was about 7. We saw Floreani every year until she was 10 at no charge for x-rays/consult. We only had to start paying when the braces came on.
Recently, the permanent retainer on the bottom came off. When I called, they said that I would have to pay about $250. I was prepared to pay it but when Dr Floreani looked at it, he decided that he was not billing us for it as it was so soon after he final appointment and hadn't been on that long. They had told her that whoever had put it on had made a mistake in the process causing it not to set properly. This might not mean much to some but I really respect when someone can say that a mistake was made and come good for it.
The other thing that we noticed was that my daughter developed a great respect for Dr Floreani and wanted to keep up with taking care of her braces and following the "rules". Even now it's been a year and a half since she had them removed, she wears her retainer EVERY night.

I'm with Crawford right now and I like him. He is straight up though, as are his employees. If you fall behind on your flossing and brushing, they'll let you know. Like someone said, they won't sugar coat anything. I've only had my braces on for roughly 6-7 months and my teeth have moved so much.
