please leave this here for a bit.Last night my daughter was at the theater with friends. She had gotten a Kodiak digital camera for her graduation with a purplish case; she loves to take pictures and she switched seats. when she went back to the seat and asked of her camera the person(s) did not answer her. It is the only thing she got from her dad being that we are not together and it means the world to her. PLEASE if you have found it or know who has it please give it back or let us know. thanks 254-2823

Did you call the theatre there may be a slim chance that someone turned it in.

03-26-2008, 12:37 PM
She let them know last night and I phoned again this morning.

03-26-2008, 01:13 PM
Well thats just horrible. She must be pretty sad.

03-26-2008, 01:21 PM
Yes SusyQ she is. She was in tears last night. I wish I could do more but can't. Hopefully it will turn up but I have my doubts. There were pics on it of family and friends and someone else is having fun now I guess.

I can't comprehend how anyone can steal let alone from a child its unreal.

03-26-2008, 05:17 PM
yup I raised my kids to turn something in if found.

03-26-2008, 07:07 PM
Unfortunatly some haven't my dear.

well apparently someone got back to my daughter and said that they know who has it but because it was found at the theatre the same night same show...anyway they said they are keeping it. The person who was talking to my daughter is trying to convince this other person to give it back because that is what's right. I am at a loss and so is she.

03-28-2008, 01:52 PM
Are you serious jesus its not that other persons camera. I'd be finding out who and paying them a visit with the police.

03-28-2008, 01:57 PM
I'm trying to get ahold of the person who was talking to my daughter but being that it was technically lost I wasn't sure if they (police) could help. and yes I want a name too..

03-28-2008, 06:16 PM
The police? Are you kidding me?

Its HER fault. She shouldn't have a camera in the theatres anyways. She's lucky that Galaxy didn't confiscate it anyways! I would have. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

03-28-2008, 07:05 PM
Ok she wasn't taking pictures in the theatre, she was taking pictures of her friends before the show. She usually has it put away so you can knock it off now we don't want or need your negative comments. She already feels bad enough so leave my thread alone please.

03-28-2008, 07:22 PM
Well, I hope she gets it back. If I still had my old camera, I would give it to her.
But it still isn't anyones fault but hers.

03-28-2008, 09:57 PM
Thank you Kittie the thought is appreciated; she knows as well as I that it is her own fault and an expensive lesson to learn and the gift is gone.

03-28-2008, 10:12 PM
Actually, recently mine was stolen. So I know how she feels.
I just thought it was a bit dramatic to say to call the police.

SORRY for the hijacking.

03-28-2008, 10:26 PM
Thank you and I'm sorry as well for getting all moody and stuff. It just peeves me off to have someone say that they are keeping it knowing that is is not theirs; and I am not even sure if the police could even do anything.

03-28-2008, 10:58 PM
Why not call the cops hell put a scare into the scrawny little brat.

03-29-2008, 07:46 AM
this scrawny brat is about 20 years old and old enough to know better lol; but yes I sure would like to. still working on a name though.

FYI - It is still considered a theft if the person who has the camera knows who it belongs to and refuses to return it.

There is precedent here... in Echo Bay a year or so ago a tenant moved out of a house and accidentally left their camera behind...when the former tenant went back and asked the NEW tenant for the camera, the new tenant basically refused and said 'finders keepers, too bad so sad'. The former tenant called the cops who then arrived at the new tenants doorstep and charged her with theft under $5000. Eventually the owner got the camera back...and the new tenant got a criminal record.

By all means, get the police involved it is your right, regardless of the circumstances under which the camera was taken - the kid went back to get it within minutes, knowing where it was and the other one lied to her. She did her part.

I will post the link to the news story, if I can find it for you.

Here's the link, it was Desbarat not Echo Bay.

YUP exactly. Theft.

03-30-2008, 04:40 PM
is your daughters name Jessica ??

03-30-2008, 07:01 PM
yes how did you know?

03-30-2008, 07:04 PM
I did contact the police and I called the lady who has it got the number but of course she said she didn't know what I was asking about and hung up on me! The polic e are going try try and contact her to ask but they said if she says no she doesn't have it there is nothing they can do.

03-30-2008, 07:10 PM
pdoodle, I hope that you get your girls camera back. Its a terrible thing for someone to do to a kid.

We had the same kind of thing happen not too long ago with my sons cell phone. We offered a reward and eventually did get it back, minus the memory card but the phone was returned.

I wish you luck.

03-30-2008, 07:16 PM
I wish I could offer a reward but I am on disability and I really don't think we will get it back but thankyou for your and everyones kind words.

03-30-2008, 07:20 PM
In this case it likely wouldn't work. If you already know who she is and she's still refusing to return it? Then she's a real piece of work, thats the nicest possible way I can say what I really think.

03-31-2008, 09:56 AM
