We hear a lot more now about Climate Change, rather than Global Warming, at least in the mainstream media.

Do you think there is a substantive reason for the change in terms.

When it's colder somewhere, or snows more than previously, all the anti aunties make hay with it, as though climate and weather were the same thing.

There's lots of unusual things going on, climate/weather wise. The problem is we really don't know why. IF man's input to the environment is part of the problem, we should do something about it. There's no way that we can continue indefinitely to increase pollution.

I think people are realizing that weather patterns that make up the climate will not simply raise temperatures. Changes in things like the jet stream, El Nino will cause variations that will have varying impacts on temperatures. Some areas will be warmer, some cooler. The term more clearly describes what is thought to be happening and includes changes in precipitation patterns.

Global warming is the rising temperature of Earth's lower atmosphere. Climate change is global warming's affect on the different climates of Earth.
