29/03/08---MOSCOW,March27(RiaNovostii)-Russian military Intelligence services are reporting a flurry of activity by U.S. Armed Forces near Iran's borders,a high ranking security source said Tuesday."The latest military intelligence data point to heightened U.S. military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran," the official said, adding that the Pentagon has probally not yet made a final decision as to when an attack will be launched. He said the pentagon is looking for a way to deliver a strike to Iran "that would enable the Americans to bring the country to its knees at minimal cost."

He also said the U.S.Naval presence in the Persian gulf has for the first time in the past four years reached the level that existed shortly before the (illegal)Invasion of Iraq in March 2003 Col-Gen Lenoid Ivashov, vice president of the Academy of Geopolitical Sciences, said last week that the Pentagon is planning to deliver a massive air strike on Irans military infrastructure in the near future.A new U.S. carrier battle group has been dispatched to the Gulf. The USS John C.Stennis, with a crew of 3,200 and around 80 fixed-wing aircraft, including F/A-18 Hornet and Superhornet fighter-bombers,eight support ships and four nuclear submarines are heading for the Gulf, where a similar group led by the USS Dwight Eisenhower has been deployed since December 2006.

Looks like they got that one wrong unless the near future means sometime in the next decade.

Odd isn't it..i cut and paste the article off another site...so. i take it the date was wrong?

FAKE news,it was first released in 2007..Sorta like how many times they killed Zarkawi.

Same as when they pull up a bogus video of Usama who supposedly DEAD,which is it.

Or some thing like they have Weapons of mass destruction.

"Only four girls were killed, down from a dozen last year..."

Oh.

Good.

Bizarre sense of humour there.

On Jan. 6 a patrol boat from the Iranian navy successfully test-fired a Chinese-made C802 anti-ship cruise missile near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz south of Bandar Abbas, hitting a target barge 10 miles away from the missile's launch site. The acquisition of the C802s has been heralded by some as a turning point in Iran's ability to threaten the regional interests of the United States and of the Arab states of the Gulf, especially oil-laden tankers carrying an estimated 20 to 30 percent of the world's oil supply through the narrow waterway on a daily basis.

In 1994 and 1995, while the world's attention was focused on U.S. forces pouring into the Gulf in response to Iraqi Republican Guard forces moving dangerously close to the Kuwaiti border, Iranian troops took full control over Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs, three islands whose ownership is claimed jointly by Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Iran quickly tightened its hold on the strategically important islands by stationing thousands of soldiers from its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) there and deploying U.S.-made Hawk anti-aircraft missile batteries, artillery and Silkworm anti-ship missiles.

Canada </div></div>

The US only goes after countries that play some kind of important role in world affairs.

Well...there goes the 'Canada' theory...
