He was apparently conscious and crying when the ambulance guys were there, so that's a good sign.

The semi ran him over, then when the driver got out and seen, he got back in and drove off of him. He was bleeding pretty bad from what I hear. Man oh man!!!! I can not imagine being a witness to something like that. I just cant stop thinking bout that poor boy and how his sister and family must feel!!!! I sure hope your right bout him being conscious and crying because from what I heard, it was pretty bad. Again my heart goes out to the parents and family...prayers said 100 times since then.

How awful! Not to be a downer, but a friend of mine hit someone last month (not her fault) and the guy was still concious and coherent. He died two days later. You just never know. If there were internal injuries, they don't always show right away. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I'm getting the impression that the driver was still on top of the child, got out, saw, then returned to the drivers seat to get the tires off of the child. I'm sure that everyone involved is completely traumatized.
My heart and prayers go to that little guy and all involved.

Isn't it just wonderful how the story started out all blood and guts, the boys body stuck under the tire and the guy had to drive back over him yada yada yada. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif I know it's not funny but seriously it ended up being a little bump that knocked him over. Far cry from what was first posted.
Never believe what you read on the internet. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif
I can't imagine the panicked people that could have been reading this from work wondering where there kids were. Sad really.

well, this witness was right, it happened as I said, it was no bump, that is for sure. The truckdriver did back up off the kid. It was a brutal scene he said. Still shook up over it, ya know what I mean. Good thing kids are like rubber!!! Coulda been alot worse.

Bottom line..a child was injured....not really a laughing matter or a time to prove a point...save that for another thread....

I'm glad he's ok and I do feel sorry for the driver also. Either way its a sad situation.

04-16-2008, 11:22 PM
the child is ok! it is time to prove a point because if you look at the disturbing poster who claimed of extreme blood and panic, then maybe you will see its a good time to show that rumours arent good. stop making me look bad for trying to make a joke about this please. i explained myself
SusyQ
04-16-2008, 11:25 PM
I kinda understand what R B was trying too do he was trying too show us how fast rumours can fly and I don't think he'd have said it if the child was seriously hurt. No disrespect too you money.
**Owens Mommy**
04-16-2008, 11:25 PM
Spending a night in the hospital is not ok...plus the horrible guilt the Delivery guy must feel...I dunno....just doesn't seem like something to make a joke out of...IMHO...
No disrespect felt here SusyQ...Just imagining it being my kiddo...

Thank you for understanding. I explained myself i was NOT making a joke about the situation itself. I suggest you quit accusing me of it and just keep letting the money do the talking

Poor little guy.. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
I saw the scene while all of the police vehicles were still there and was wondering what had happened. Looked like it was something serious but refrained from asking on here as you never know what kind of answers you'll get.
I'm glad he's is going to be alright. He must have been so scared. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
Thoughts to him, his family/friends as well as the driver.

Well the only thing that is out of place in this thread is that it was a semi, was not a semi, but pretty close. I live with the person who witnessed it. Of course there is gonna be friggin blood!!!! But no one said nothing about guts!!!! They were right there, saw it happen, stopped the vehicle and got out to friggin help, even walked the boy's sister home. It just makes me sick how much people think THEY know on here. Like I said, I am glad the boy is alright, but when you LITERALLY try to start rumors, that is pretty sickening.

whoa itsonlyme is up early!
Don't feel bad itsonlyme. This kind of thing has been happening long before the internet, and this BBS.
My son was hit by a car years ago and you wouldn't believe the stories that people heard. Its the old Broken telephone.
I'm just glad that the child is ok.

he is doing not bad he is sore poor little guy they cleaned his road rash and you know when that gets wet it hurts he will be coming home in a few days they just want to watch his cracked hip i was talking to daddy. thank god thats it.my thoughts go out to him and his family.
Tammywillow - do you know if they have brought in a plastic surgeon? When my son was hit he had terrible road rash all over his face. Dr. Wollner was brought in for his hand and he prescribed some kind of ointment that cleared up his road rash with NO scarring.
Amazing stuff. The parents might ask for a consult.

The children that were there as witnesses are pretty shaken up as well as the children that he attends school with. Everyone is thinking of him and hoping and wishing for a quick and great recovery. We are anxious to have him back at school.

I met the father last night on his way home. The hospital only allows one parent to stay overnight with a child. He did state that the boy is ok, and has been said on here, has a cracked hip and some road rash.
To be hit by a large vehicle like that (or any vehicle for that matter), and not have more serious injuries, or even death....a higher power was looking after the child...
Best and sincere wishes for a speedy recovery so he can enjoy the coming summer.

Poor little dude. What a scary thing for him, his sister, his parents, the driver & anyone who witnessed it, not to mention his friends & the rest of his family.
Glad to hear he's going to be ok.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to all of the gossipers on here, their own lives are probably too boring, so they have to start rumours about things they have no clue about and talk out of their @sses.

Axalon said it better on another thread and I quote....
Pehaps tactless would have been a better word?
Irregardless, what's done is done. I'm sure there was no deliberatly cruel intent behind the original comment anyway.
Bad timing, a joke in poor taste, an accidental faux pas, but no malice. End quote!
Now give RB a break he's been here along time and I've never NEVER seen him be ignorant or hurt anyone on purpose. Jeese.
