Oooohhh!!! I love Third Day, they're my fave! I'm going to see them in August. Woohoo! I also have the How You Live accompaniment track, and the Steven Curtis Chapman one with Lord of the Dance on it.

Good stuff.

Why does Christian music barely register on the interest scale in North America?

Like any other sub-culture, there are those who are not aware of it.

However, there are now at least four Christian radio stations that can be heard in our area.

There are concerts in Central Michigan on at least a monthly basis. There are summer concerts every week at Piette Lake through the summer.

And Third Day just played for the Pope.

So I think there's some interest, certainly in the USA.

because people have a pre-judged idea of it being all gospel music, many don't know how many forms it actually comes in.

It's because, hypocrites like the Buzzard are attached.

I didn't know anything about contemporary christian music before I became became a christian, but I can say this. Whatever secular music you are into, you can find an equivalent style in christian music. It's not all Andy Griffith, people. LOL I have quite a rockin' collection of music, and I heard atleast 3 songs that are played on christian radio played on secluar radio this afternoon. (the guy building my deck brought his radio)

My husband even has some hard rock(similar to Motley Crue), some thrash (equivalent to Metallica and Megadeth), some that sounds like early black Sabbath, etc. It's not a valid excuse to say you can't become a christian because you'd have to give up your music. I think we have the best music going!

Amen to that.

I get the greatest kick out of playing contemporary Christian music to main line church folks. Most of them have never heard anything like it, and they are just thrilled!

The Doobies aren't considered Christian music.
Great song regardless, Jesus IS Just Alright!

A christian band named D.C.Talk redid that song...it's pretty cool. More rap, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I like this song.

Anybody going to the Big Ticket Festival???

Jackie B
05-20-2008, 09:34 PM
Me! Me me me!!! I bought my tickets in March. I'm so pumped. I saw the Newsboys here in the Soo about 12 years ago.

I'm taking the kids too. They have the inflatable park, petting zoo, extreme sports, veggie tales characters, and Bibleman there for the kids. They don't know. I'm leaving the baby with gramma, and maybe the four year old. She would have a blast, but she's whiny and usually falls asleep wherever she is by 8, if I don't put her to bed by then. We're taking our new motorhome.

Go and buy some good quality ear plugs, the ridged, rubber kind.
You'll enjoy the show much more, especially if you like to sit close!!
