I just wonder where are all the Black squirrels this year.
Last year we had lots of them in the Eastend here. Now they are gone for some reason.

Did anybody else notice this.??

Actually I count 2 maybe 3 at a time in the trees behind me 3 or 4 times a day and they are freakin huge this year.

I know someone who has had one since it was an abandoned baby for a pet. I guess it can get into a pile of trouble in a hurry if not kept an eye on! /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

They're probably just about to come out of the nursery. Also, if it's hot and humid, they hang around in their nest more. They're most active in the early morning and evening. Babies (usually 4 to a litter) oughta' be out chasing each other around soon. I know all this 'cause I just looked them up last week to see how they built their nests. LOL

I saw two yesterday on the fence running along the back on my and my neighbors house and they had me cracking up. They were literally jumping over each other and it was driving the neighbors dog nuts. If I didn't know better, I would say they were doing it on purpose.

For the record, there were not 40 feet tall

Probably not.

But a bunch of squirrels ate some food next to a nuclear dump site over here, and, well...

They are all at my house. Where can I send them.

Send 'em to RWGR. He doesn't believe they exist.

They keep getting run over-I see them a lot on the roads lately on mainstreets. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

There's a pile behind my house as well, scares off the cute lil red squirels.

Barry lying again!

Barry said surefire proof of Global Warming is that black squirrels are bigger today than ever before.

I kid you not. You cannot make this stuff up.

The Rats probably ate them.

Sure you can. Yet another classic wingy misquote.

I feed them all the time. They always show up for breakfast, lunch, and supper. If theres no nuts out for them, they come inside and follow me around. I even petted one of them. Careful if you want to pet them... their teeth are like razors. If the window is closed, my dog will whine. She'd been biten several times.

If you want to feed them, they really like pistachios and almonds. They also like peanuts, but I've spoiled them.

RWGR, I think you forgot something in your photo of the black squirrel. It was missing an important cultural item.

That is much better /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Well anyways, where I come from, there have always been black squirrels. Long Soo always had them for as long as I can remember, and most definitely Ottawa. Never noticed them up here until about 10 years ago.

Here is an article about them in the US. They seem to prefer the more northern climates...these black squirrels.
