oh babzz, im so excited for you!!!!

sure, if you have another get together ill come, i like to tell my story, because it helped me so much, if it can help someone else... i would neve have thought of this surgery if it were not for someone telling me about it and showing me how much their life had impoved.

july 9, that is less than a month, just think how much better you will be feeling by the end of summer! and how fantastic you will look and feel by christmas. wow! and this time next year you will be a new woman.

dont forget to look up some stuff to see in vegas while you are there. check out stuff to do from a car, just incase you are really tired, and stuff to do getting out more, incase you are feeling great. i felt both, the last few days i had i shopped all day, but the first few i got out but needed to rest more.

I am really hoping that get to see circ de soleau love. Its a beatles theme. Putting that one on my vision board /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
I want to hunt down chris angel too /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif lol

I have stopped coffee and advil is gone soon. I am still struggling witht the smoking though /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Will check my calendar and post soon regarding another casual meeting..

I have a friend who had hers done in the last group in Bay City. Not sure what the date was, however, I talked to her via msn the other day and she has lost 109 pounds. She's feeling like a million bucks.

She said the surgery was not bad at all and she's so happy she did it. She and I have known each other for 30 years and she told me I wouldn't recognize her. I can't wait to see her and see how wonderful she looks, and most importanatly how great she feels.

I am now just about 10 months out and down 115 pounds!! BEST THING I EVER DID!!! Can't wait to go to vegas with you Barb!! Counting down the days!!

I'm bummed out. My Dr. just bailed on me today - wont sign anything for this as he doesn't want to be responsible post op. Of course he has no alternatives to offer either!

Thanks, I was already going to check them out on Monday if they are open, Wednesday if they're not. My Dr. was in favour of this when I saw him in May but since then he has talked with CMPA (Canadian Medical Protective Assoc.) and been advised not to sign on to any out of country surgeries. There is no way I'm going with a full bypass as I know too many people with their own horror stories about that. Too bad Ontario doesn't wake up and start taking Bariatric surgery seriously.

Ohip is approving them in like three or four days now.

Babzz - the reason he gave me is a lack of followup from Dr. Rutledge, making him - my dr - responsible for any surgical complications and followup - he's a GP and not qualified surgically. I don't believe his version is the reality but there's no arguing with the dr. He has one patient that has been to Vegas and I guess he couldn't get any medical report followup from Dr Rutlegde's office.
It looks like a case of CYA. Seems like doctors today don't want anything to do with someone else's work. I wonder if we should thank the lawyers for that situation?!

I am fortunate i suppose that my doc has agreed to the followup.
I gave her the manual to study and she has been in contact with Dr. R a few times.

i think it is very normal to feel nervous, big trip, big life changing situation. babzz, you met all those folks at the canadian this spring, we are all very happy and no problems.

i am very sorry for anyone who is having problems. i thik you need to be assertive with your doctor and rutledges office. if you dont get good help with his office keep talking with kim hazen, she is just wonderful and very helpful. i have never had a problem with any followup questions or advise.
