The eagerly awaited Firefox 3 Internet browser will be available for download on June 17, and the folks at Mozilla are encouraging everyone to download it within 24 hours of its release to set a world record. In a creative bit of publicity, they are billing June 17 as Firefox Download Day 2008. You can learn about the new features here. I don't know about you, but I'm certainly looking forward to the new version and hope to download it on the 17th.

Still has a few bugs I see, and not all the addons are working with 3.. won't be long I imagine.

Allot of people are complaining about the address bar, personally I don't have a prob with it. It will be nice when they get the add on and themes etc. working with it.The speed of it is great though.

If someone doesn't like it and wants the old one:
Install the 'oldbar' extension.
type in about:config and set "browser.urlbar.matchBehavior = 2"
set "browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped = true"

Many, many, many people complaining about all sorts of issues with FF 3. I find it hangs, it's slow loading pages, and brutal loading images. Not compatible with different things like my web accelerator.. went back to Ver. 2 much better.

Yeah me to.. I just went back to FF2.. for some reason FF3 was taking forever to load from the start and it just seemed to harsh my system right up.

I've had FF3 since it's first beta, and the only complaint I've had since then is some add-ons not working. Other than that it's so much faster for me, I love the address bar look. All the complaints people are making, for me, it's not an issue. I'm glad it finally got released.

However, since most spyware, ad-ware, viruses and other malicious content has always been out there having a field day with IE users and all of IE's insecurities, now that MS is moving over to FF, there will be a shift in targets and all that malicious crap will finding ways to get through FF.

That's the one downfall of MS ... EVERYBODY hates them. Im sure even Bill himself has woken up on more than one occasion and asked "Why Me" ?

Now that MS is trying to overtake EVERYTHING in the world they can, soon enough you'll start seeing mass viruses on Macs /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
