Humane Society adopt a cat month

Does anyone know why there was no adopt-a-cat-month this June?
I checked on the OSPCA website and they said it was all across Ontario, yet we didn't have one.

it seems that June is the month when so many kittens need homes so I don't understand why it didn't happen.

also could they have moved it up until July (tomorrow)?

hasnt she tried talking to them and they just dont respond because they dont like her? (i say they dont like her by assuming after reading the letter that was published) (and i say they dont respond to her by assuming from reading the letter she wrote)

i do know there used to be a big push for cat adoptions in june. it certainly is the month wheere there are soooooo many kittens.

If orchid told us maybe it would blow her cover of who she really is and what job it is she holds at the humane society.

I will be calling them tomorrow Orchid.
I just thought I'd ask since people have been e-mailing me about it, and I thought someone out there might know if they are going to do one this month.

I'm wondering why they didn't have one in June, when that seems to be the month that so many kittens end up there.

Perhaps they don't have the funds to participate.

i wish i worked there. it would be a hell of lot more interesting and rewarding than where i do work. i have handed in several resumes over the last few years, most recently about three months ago, but they never seem to be hiring, which when i think about it seems odd that there have been new faces since i first started "applying", maybe my appearance is unsettling to them, i don't know. so i settle for visiting whenever i can. and i really don't know much about what goes on there, i only speculate and assume based on what i see when i do visit and from chatting with the staff. my job involves a lot of hanging and rearranging and standing behind a counter punching buttons and listening to people complain about the value of the items they purchase. but hey, whatever you wanna think is fine with me.

I called the Humane Society this morning.
They told me will be holding the adopt-a-cat month later on when there are more cats at the shelter.

The receptionist wasn't sure when.

I just noticed that there are already over 60 cats looking for homes on the HS website. I wonder how many there has to be before they do the adopt a cat thing?

Thats 60 cats available and thats not including the stray room, the ones not yet online OR the recently euthernized cats and kittens! Theres no time like the present! I just dont get it and I dont know how anyone can justify or side with that place /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif
Dont get me wrong, I encourage "everyone" to adopt from there for the animals sake, but I dont get how they didnt do an adopt-a-cat-month with those numbers /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

Karen do you have anything better to do with you time then bash the humane society?? why would ppl email you asking when they will have a discount there they could just call the h.s themselves. Do you plan on adopting a cat??

No Starhaven...I asked because people were e-mailing me and asking if I knew when the HS was going to have their adopt a cat month. they thought i might know the reason as I write about animal issues. %The people who e-mailed didn't know WHY it wasn't happening.it goes on all across Canada every June, and this year our local HS didn't do it as they are thinking they are waiting for a month when there are more cats.
