Several sites are quite excited about finds of chariot wheels and parts, and fossilized bones at a possible site of the parting of the Red Sea.

There are other sites that put down these claims, which is to be expected, I suppose.

The one thing I find very interesting in searches like this is that the respective governments forbid further searches

Chariot Wheels found in the Red Sea (Gulf of Aqaba)

Red Sea or Sea of Reeds?

Since reeds only grow in fresh water, scholars have looked for centuries for a fresh water lake the Israelites could have crossed and of course none exists.
Could a more accurate word for the Hebrew phrase "Yam Suph" be "seaweed" instead of reeds? Could this be referring to the part of the present Red Sea known as the Gulf of Aqaba --where these chariot wheels were found?

The name Red Sea probably stems from its proximity to Edom, the land occupied by the descendants of Esau, whose name in Hebrew means Red.

In 1 Kings 9:26 we have a location that can be identified today to make it simple for us to tell where the Red Sea is. It was a port where King Solomon built and maintained a fleet of merchant ships. It was called Ezion Geber and you can still see its remains today near the resort city of Elat at the Northern end of the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red sea.

Since I have seen these pictures and the descriptions. I truly believe that these are the chariot wheels of gold. Also the remains of some bodies and chariots. No wonder they have closed these sites to people. Saudi Arabia is not a christian country and they don't want these things to get out.

I am skeptical. When nothing physical is available for inspection, and when only a Christian publication comes out with this news, and it doesn't make headlines anywhere else, I remain skeptical. We have been misled many times by supposed finds..

In fact, Ron Wyatt, who first supposedly discovered these chariot wheels, may be a fraud. Look at these websites:

I agree, for sure. The guy has a bad rep.

But I still laugh when I think of the closed doors to further searches. Seems like it never fails.

There is a lake behind Rupert Acres, with a car in it.

I wonder if that lake was spread, or shows proof someone drove through it.
