Nice thanks. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wavey.gif

Wonder what those stubs would look like 50 years later?
Most kids I see delivering papers now are coddled, driven around by their parents, and can't go out if the weather too severe.

LOL...I'm one of those parents that "coddles" my son often. Have you seen what these kids nowadays are expected to deliver???

Forget trying to ride a bike and carry the papers everyday! And if you are big enough and strong enough to manage it look forward to back pain sometime in the near future.

Two days a week my son delivers "flyers and whatnot" to everyone that "isn't" a subscriber to the paper, as well as his regular papers. There's no way in hell anyone can expect a ten year old to lug all that stuff (that they expect delivered) in his bag.

P.S. I remember helping deliver papers back in public school, the boy I helped had some sixty some customers and the papers/flyers were nothing compared to the "advertising" they send out nowadays!

Pretty neat collection stub, I remember when they had to punch a card just not those ones. LOL..I'm not THAT old!

When I started delivering Shoppers News:
I had 280 homes on a rural route.
It took me two days to deliver them on bad days.
By the end of my second year I had 320 homes.
This included flyers and Sears Catalogues.
I made 3-5 bucks a week.
In 1974 that was <s>pretty good</s> slave wages.
I got my butt literally kicked if I was a day late.
Draconian sure, but I still have a great work ethic.
