View Full Version : Cd not working
Hmmm, I was trying to make a photo cd and suddenly my device manager tells me this: <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)</div></div>
Can someone help me with this???

CODE 41
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.

180 pictures is not a lot in the digital age, it will fit on one CD.
I wanted to put them on CD for my travelling companions so that they can have my pictures too.
Hey guys
This is still not working. I went in and looked in the registry and both of those values are still there. I tried to go back in according to your directions and they can't be deleted.
Any suggestions???

is it making a ticking, or anyother sounds coming from it. how old is it.
My son attempted to make a CD last night using Roxio and it simply said that there was NO cd - recorder on the system.

sounds like the lazer light scribe is on the kaputs. If you buy another cd drive, make sure it has dual layer. hope that helped.
The drive may just need to be deleted and reinstalled..
Dammmit uninstall and reinstall still not doing it.
At least not as far as the Roxio program is concerned.

if you dont want to use a thumb drive like i suggested back a few, why not scrap roxio entirely and just use windows to burn your pictures? just drop a blank disk in, drag and drop your pictures into the cd drive in My computer and voila.
The problem is Mr FUDD RUCKER is the the CD is not there anymore. As far as either Windows or Roxio is concerned!!!
If I wanted to give my friends a thumb drive I would. I want to give them a cd with our Vacation Pictures on it. Is that OK???

Try a different IDE cable.
