There's a big one across the street from me, by Blessed Sacrament church on Cathcart Street. All the acorns and oak leaves you could want. Actually, the tree is more across from the funeral home on Cathcart, just down from John Street.

There are two species of oak native to this area, Red Oak (Quercus rubra) and Burr Oak (Quercus macrocarpa).

I collected acorns about a month ago.

There is a large burr oak that had lots of acorns beneath behind the Cambrian Mall, east side just south of the food court entrance, right beside the laneway.

There are several large red oaks along Queen Street East at the Golf & Coutry Club so there might still be acorns there.

What about a Fort Creek? I have an oak in my backyard and another that hangs over my driveway. Not many acorns left between the squirrel in the neighbourhood and my daughter squishing them.

How many are you looking for? I have access to a couple of white oaks.

Just out of curiosity, what's all this for, anyway?

its going to be an experiment for deer hunting..i am going to puree the acorns and either makea block ( like a salt lick) or makea liquid to put on the ground, white oak would be ideal thanks
