checking on selloffairfares, I see it is $800 + taxes or so to fly home ($1000).
this is even past Christmas.
so i check Westjet & it is $200 to fly to Toronto BUT still is $800 to fly Toronto to The Sault.
Nice little control scam Air Canada has.....man, I wish Westjet still serviced The Sault.

fly to toronto and then take our wonderful greyhound the rest of the way. that might not even be cheaper though if they keep uping the prices every couple months.

Bearskin goes to either Winnepeg or Thunderbay try going that far with West Jet and switching over.

Bearskin, in the past when I have checked, is outrageous in price as well.

I always was under the impression Westjet was "forced" out of the Sault by Air Canada & not by money?????

I'll drive before I pay $1000 in airfares!!!!

Grrr!!!

no passport as I never plan to go to The States for any reason any longer, BUT, how do I get from Kinross to The Sault?

Checked Greyhound & it seems $200+ round trip from Toronto is the best option...I'll try from Thunder Bay as well but still cheaper than Air Canada.

do you need neck guards on the greyhound nowadays???

Do you have airmiles? I just went to T.O with airmiles(850) plus I had to pay $159+cents? for taxes and fees-per person.Much cheaper than paying for a full fare and I did it for 3 people.p.s. they wanted $45 more per person for insurance but I didn't go for it.it's not worth it....

Barney, Air Canada drops it's regional flight prices every time another company tries to move into their regional markets. Happened with West Jet, too. Air Canada sucks. I hope they hear that, and pull their toys out of our sandbox, and go home to Toronto. Then we could actually get some competition around here. West Jet, please come back.

Air Canada is much larger than Westjet, with a bigger fleet.

The operational costs alone cost ALOT more than Westjet.

This is why Westjet can keep there prices cheaper. I'm sure there is a bit more markup for AirCanada, but stop beign ignorant and look at the whole fact. Not just the bottom line.

In order for Westjet to continue comming to the Sault, they had to jack up the prices due to the lack of people stopping/picking up. They just chose to stop comming here because of cost.

Aircanada STILL comes here, and decided to increase the cost inorder to cover the cost of fuel and operational costs.
