they're rubber/polyurethane 'bumpers' that help hkeep the body and frame aligned to each other.

do u have to remove the cab to install them?

Pickups are notorious for rotting out at the front cab mounts, which would be just under your feet. The local auto stores would probably have a piece of pre-formed body metal to replace that area.
Quite a job, but appearance isn't an issue. Cut out the rot, add the new pice, weld, or bolt or something and seal.

By the way, risk the 50 bucks or so and get a safety done on it BEFORE you buy. you don't need to take the ownership or anything. The mechanic can tell you exactly what he needs to have to pass, and you will know what you need to do.

hockey pucks with the centers drilled out of them work just fine as cab mounts!!! They also do wonders to help spring sag!!!
