I hope Matt gets a solid chance this time.
He's tearing up the A right now.
He has the ability, but like so many, you need the chance.
Good luck Dags!

Did you win some money?

11-30-2008, 10:21 PM
SO let me get this straight...your mocking the Sault that actually has people in the NHL yet your hometown of soo mich has no-one...probably no-one within a 1 hour michigan radius is even in the NHL...So I say the boys from Canada win again....just like the good ol Canadian boys ran the table in the recent Traverse City Tournament....you lose...

12-01-2008, 09:11 AM
just put the idiot on ignore as he never has anything worth while to add to anything.

Jack Butler

Here's the latest.
After a bit of a flat spot, he scored again in a big win!

12-19-2008, 09:21 AM
Ya Matt!! Me not being a hockey fan at all, checked the game a couple of times last night to see how Matt was doing.
Eachtime I checked however it was between periods. I suck!!!!

Regardless, Matt is doing great!

Jack Butler

He got a helper on the GWG, in OT, on the PP!
Played 16:29 with 18 shifts.
He needs to play 20 to stay up, and that was game 10.

Jack or someone else can you explain what that means? 20 to stay up?

12-21-2008, 02:39 PM
20 minutes of ice time, to keep his numbers (points) up.

Jack Butler
12-21-2008, 10:54 PM
As soon as he plays 20 games he gets the top money of his 3 way contract, but doesn't have to pass waivers to get sent down.
It kinda works against you when you are in Matt's situation.
If they keep him, someone will have to be put on waivers.
That's not to say a lot could change if there is a trade...they have cap room left, so...

Jack Butler
12-21-2008, 11:00 PM
He scored again.
6 goals and 2 assist in 11 games!
Oh......and he was first star, again!

12-22-2008, 10:00 AM
I"m so happy for him. I'm sure his parents are just Busting with happiness.

Jack - I don't know if you saw my post in soapbox, but thanks for taking the time to respond to me.
I do appreciate your time and knowledge.

12-22-2008, 11:03 AM
Me too

Jack Butler
12-22-2008, 01:15 PM
I did!
No, problem!
I just about called it quits and didn't want to leave you hanging!
I have had second thoughts with the recent changes, so......
You are too kind!

12-22-2008, 03:43 PM
Thanks, buddy :)

Jack Butler

Jack Butler
12-30-2008, 01:44 PM
Last nights effort.....15 shifts for 12:52 in a 5-2 win over the Panthers.

Jack Butler
12-31-2008, 12:37 PM
Much better minutes, 16:38 for 22 shifts in a 2 -1 win over the Bolts.
Needs points.....

Jack Butler
01-01-2009, 12:04 AM
It good he's still there....lots of movement with the injuries.
Tanguay is the lastest, so....

01-01-2009, 06:13 PM
Yeah, funny what happens when 1/3 of your team is injured.

01-01-2009, 06:29 PM
Dags has really slowed down.

I hope he's not just another 'flash in the pan'.

Can you say "Rico Fata"???

01-01-2009, 06:34 PM
From TSN:

0 pts in last 3 GP

Jack Butler
01-01-2009, 06:44 PM
Lots of traffic up and down.
Dags has played 14 games and counting.

He's REALLY tailed off...you have to wonder: is the next Rico Fata here??

Jack Butler
01-03-2009, 09:35 AM
Not a great game for Matt.

Matt played 9:00 for 13 shifts.
Tough ride when you play with different guys every night.....

Please start another thread if another player is to be discussed or compared.

Please start another thread if another player is to be discussed.

Good idea.

I'd like to talk about how closely Dag's career is resembling Rico Fata's career.

This thread is about Dags, right?

You know its good to see what you know,,,rico was a first round pick wherever he went,,,,matt did it the hard way,,,,you know not what you are talking about

01-05-2009, 06:26 PM
How many times can you be a first round pick??

Jack Butler
01-05-2009, 06:56 PM

01-05-2009, 09:22 PM
Slow...listen very very carefully, drafted 1st into the ohl, drafted first into the nhl.......did you get that

Jack Butler
01-06-2009, 02:24 PM
If you know the Fata saga, it no where resembles D'Agostini's career.
The people that know Matt, and probably a lot that don't, are all really proud.
For those that don't, here's the scoop.....great piece from The Gazette/Dec. 14.
For Matt to be able to give that moment to his parents, makes every grueling road trip, hours shoveling the rink, all the broken windows and 7am practice worth it.
........kinda hits you, right where you live!

01-06-2009, 02:31 PM
How many times can you be a first round pick??

depends on how many times you are in a draft.

Here we are 14 months later....

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced late Tuesday the club has acquired forward Matt D’Agostini from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Aaron Palushaj.

D’Agostini, 23, has played in 40 games this season with Montreal, recording four points including two goals and two assists to go along with 26 penalty minutes.

Last season, the 6-0, 198-pound forward appeared in 53 games for the Canadiens collecting 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points and 16 penalty minutes. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada native was originally drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the sixth round, 190th overall in the 2005 entry draft.

D’Agostini will join the Blues on March 4 for the game in Dallas.

I'm glad he got out of that nut house.
John Davidson is a beauty.....I was hoping this would happen!
