Looks like every 2 weeks.
Mosley looked the best I have seen him in 10 years.
Margarito has been accused of loading his gloves.
A plaster of paris like substance was found to be part of the gauze used to wrap the hands.
The original wrap was removed and replaced.
They are looking into his previous fights

I seen that fight live and man mosley took margarito to school. Glad to see some good boxers are out there still that actually fight.

Here is more on Margaritos hand wrap.

In wake of last Saturday nights shocking revelation that Mexican Antonio Margarito had prepared to potentially use illegal elements to pad his gloves, many around the world of boxing remain in awe.

Here's something...
Andrei Arlovski will compete as a Professional Boxer.
I guess it's a good thing?

That would be a fresh face to see in the heavywieght category. Providing he keeps his chin tucked in and closes his mouth while hes breathing.

Campbell Loses Titles on The Scales!
What an idiot....there's no excuse!

Both fights were shameful at best. And dear god why wont lennox knock that other repetative announcer out for the love of god lol. The judges also were complete idiots, cintron clearly lost that fight and they called it a draw. And taking that point from martinez because cintron wouldnt keep his head up was completetly unfair. It looked like martinez was fighting a right handed stationary fist turret as cintron clearly was just standing in one spot throwing the right jab for almost 7 rounds straight.

Jack Butler
02-16-2009, 07:05 PM
No...they weren't the best.
Martinez was the aggressor throughout and knocked Cintron down in the 7th!
Affective aggressiveness and ring generalship went to Martinez hands down.
Judges said 116-110 Martinez and 113-113 twice.
Considering the lost point by Martinez in the 12th, it would have been unanimous.
Still a bad decision.
Hope the next is better, Mar 13, Chad Dawson vs Antonio Tarver

guerrero pissed me off. a little cut and he conceided the fight in the first round. ortiz is definatly an up and comer to keep an eye on. Juilio is one tough SOB to take a beating like that for 6 rounds. I have to say golden boy promotions sure knows how to host good fights. ive been very pleased with the past few events that have been on.

Jack Butler
03-09-2009, 07:51 PM
Yup, great fight cards.
Kirkland is for real....will be good to see him against top level competition.
The Guerrero cut was bad enough, why keep going after that...when you don't have to.
It sucks as a fan, but as the bleeding boxer, it's a smart decision.
Would have to see Ortiz again to make a call.....he had the upper hand, but an iffy stoppage.
Love The Sweet Science......

Upper Decker

no way, harris was knocked out on his feet. his hands went limp after the uppercut he got. Ive seen way worse cuts recently and the fights still kept going.

Jack Butler
03-09-2009, 10:35 PM
I saw the blip after the shot.....don't remember if there could have been a standing 8?
The outcome would be the same, eventually...you may be right.
The cut....well, it's like this....would you, when you don't have to?
That's why the rule is there.
It's kinda like the stoppage...had they let it go...couple more shot to make it bleed worse....they stop it anyway.
This rule applies anytime before 5th round starts.
With the amount of fight left, IMO, it was inevitable and a good call.
Thank God for HBO Canada, it's been awesome.

not goinna argue with that. i just remember fighters like joe fraiser, floyd patterson, ali, foreman, gotti, ward and many others who had 10x worse injuries in thier fights and they still went to the bitte end. guess im just wishing to see greats like that again lol. And yes HBO has renewed my faith in boxing yet again. i thought i lost my love for boxing after watching paqccio whoop de la hoyas ass for 8 rounds, than to see the golden boy conceide the fight.

Back in the day when you had to beat the Champ.
The sport evolved and today it's a little more civilized...
....as civilized as two guys punching each other in the head can be.
The changes may help retired boxer keep their ability to speak and their motor skills more in tack?
The Second Concussion Syndrome has been realized.
Out of the guys you mentioned, Foreman is the only one that can talk with any normalcy.
There was a time when everyone wanted to be Ali.
I don't think that's the case anymore.

Jack Butler

Wright was always a handful...I thought it was over for him.
I say Williams as well.

Williams threw over 1000 punches.....Wright managed just over 500.
Neither fighter was hurt in a lopsided tilt.

What could be, the "Fight of the Year", is this weekend
The final presser for Pacquiao vs. Hatton...
.....Pacquiao by TKO in the 9th?

Guess who has come out of retirement...
Mayweather-Marquez is on!

Jack Butler

Pacquiao put Hatten to sleep at 2:59 of the 2nd.
It wasn't even close.
Freddie Roach, Pacquiaos trainer, predicted 3 rounds!
With the Pretty Boy back in the mix, it should be a good year or two!

On the under card....

WBC super featherweight champion Humberto Soto (48-7-2, 31 KOs) defended his title with a ninth round knockout over Benoit Gaudet (20-2, 7 KOs). Soto dropped Gaudet in round one, and then floored Gaudet twice in the ninth round. Referee Jay Nady called a halt at 2:25 after the third knockdown.
Rising middleweight star and one of boxing’s hottest prospects, Daniel “The Golden Child” Jacobs (16-0, 14 KOs) scored a one-sided eight round unanimous decision over Mike Walker (19-1-2, 12 KOs). Scores were 80-72, 80-72, 79-73.
Former two-time world amateur champion and Russian Olympian Matt Korobov (5-0, 5 KOs) demolished Anthony Bartinelli (20-13-2, 13 KOs), scoring a second round TKO in a middleweight. Korobov dropped Bartinelli in the second and got the stoppage with his follow up attack. Time was 2:15.
Jr middleweight Erislandy Lara (5-0, 3 KOs) easily outpointed Chris Gray (11-8) 40-36 on all cards. Lara is a former world amateur champion.

Jacobs and Korobov are names to remember.
These guys have huge talent and are the names of the future in Middleweight.
