Hello everyone, I have an older Toshiba Tecra A 1 laptop that will not die, but the harddrive is starting to fail on me. I am looking to purchase a new one but I have no idea how large the motherboard will support. Any help on this would be great. Thanks in advance everyone :)

not much you can do with that laptop other than maybe some more memory and a bigger hdd. i dont think there is a limit on the motherboard to what sized drive you want to cram in there.

Sorry fudd, but you must not have read the question well, I am quite aware of how to upgrade a machine, I am just not aware of the HDD capacity that the MOBO in this toshiba will support. But thank you.

there shouldn't be a capacity limit, unless the computer is 10 years old.

No, it is a 2002 I do believe, I was kinda thinking the same thing, becasue that is when Large disk support had no real boundaries by what exists to the consumer today. am I correct?

kinda. it all depends on your motherboard, but i dont think you'll have any problems.

How big is the drive that's in it now?
