incredible bass player. Everyone in that band is extremely talented.

Not too big on the 10+ minute epics tho.

The tapping bit is good but IMO the rest of it is just wankery. Playing tons of notes really fast in different time sigs isn't that pleasing to the ears. He is talented but I do not like this tune.

For me, it's not about where the music is, it's about where the music isn't!
Fast is cool, but how do you go faster...........................you have to slow down!
I like a good back beat with a thick texture, like a Wooten or a Clarke.
Their ability to change the voice of the instrument amazes me.

Wooten is a master at his style hands down...

That guy is great at what he does but to me it's like someone playing the six string piano.

This is an old video but I was always impressed by Prakash John.

Seen him once live in Toronto in a bar many years ago.

Nice solo at 2:48 in the video.

This is what I'm talking about.
He's just sooo musical.
Here's a neat look at Wooten and little about his influences.

It still amazes me how Wooten moves his fingers all over the fret board..

Just one more, Bela Fleck drives me crazy.
One of the comments I will always remember, "I can't decide if it make me want to practice or quit."

There's a Mark XX Daion for sale on evil-bay. Pretty close to an Alembic. 9 piece neck through, 6 piece body with a solid Rosewood core. Don't make 'em like that any more for 1200 US.
