so, i've discovered that it is increadibly hard to get a good pic of an aquarium!! but i'm getting better at doing it so i wanted to share some. if you have a tank i'd love to see pics of that too so feel free to add them to this thread. i just re-did my fifty gallon tank and it's looking a lot better than it used to. it just needs some time to grow in.

my 50g before i took the plants out for the new tank. i'll be re planting it next week..woohoo!
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/tattoogemini/HPIM2328.jpg

this is the new tank when i first got it. didn't look bad or anything but i wanted it to have natural plants and whatnot. the cichlids were too messy for my taste and would have likely attacked my loaches so they had to be rehomed. i found them a good home

yeah, they do look good at night. (: maintenance is not that much work, really. if i could stop switching things around all the time, that is. they look way better in person. it's relaxing anyways and we all enjoy it. the kids learn a lot from having them up too.

Here are just some of the many fish we have....We have 2- 2 gallons, 1- 5 gallon, 1-15 gallon, 2-20 gallons, 1- 30 gallon, 2- 80 gallons and 1 = 220gallon !!! and those are just the ones set up!!!
We have all fresh water tanks with tropical, large American Cichlids and African cichlids. We have some babies from our African fish, and convicts, but don't professionally breed or anything...Its all for the love of the fish...Their colors, personalities and beauty in general...
I made a slide show on photobucket to show some of our favourites...

i meant fish tanks as "things" or objects, maybe poor word to use. But not as something without value or merit i think that fish tanks are great and the fish are amazing in their diversity.
Fish tanks like yours are not easy to maintain they require time, effort, care, pride, commitment.

ahh...i wasn't too sure what you meant but i didn't take it as an insult. yeah, it's a fun hobby. it doesn't actually require all that much work and i enjoy rearranging the plants and stuff. it's just like gardening only wetter and lil' things nibble your arms while you're in there. (:
houligan just gave me a new tank(THANKS!!!) so i'm going to post some pics of that once it's all set up.
