I got a standard dual band Draft N router with a 4 port switch built into it, was wondering and i suspect this. Would getting a gigabit switch to piggyback off the router be throttled to 100mb/s due to the router only having 10/100?

Was thinking bout getting a draft N with gigabit router but cant seem to find a decent dual band draft n with gigabit without breaking the bank so i was looking at this alternative, but im pretty sure ive answered my own question was just lookin for some other input

If you got a GB switch and connect all your LAN gear (PCs extenders etc) to the GB switch you will get GB speeds on all your LAN gear that have GB NICs. You would have to connect your GB switch to the 10/100Mbps switch on the router for all your LAN gear to have Internet or WAN access. This is a typical setup for a residential setting....
