View Full Version : Cleaning jewlery
Besides going tho the jeweler what is your best way of cleaning rings and watches? I use liquid laundry soap and a tooth brush.

Tooth paste (not the gel kind) and a toothbrush.

I use the jewelry cleaner you can get at Walmart. You soak your jewelry in it, and then they provide a little brush with it, but I heard that windex with a toothbrush does a good job too.

Use hot water and 2 caps of ammonia and a drop of dish soap in a 8 or 10 oz glass or mug.
Let it soak a bit than use a tooth brush on the nook and crannies.
When cleaning diamond rings make sure to clean the back or inside of the ring directly under the stone. This helps the light travel through and makes the diamond pop.
A small strainer helps to rinse the jewelry.
You may want to use the tooth brush during the rinsing to remove all the soap residue.
Use a soft cloth to dry. For best results with chains, pull the chain through the cloth in both direction to get more of the oils out.
This will make a BIG difference in all jewelery!

I use Colgate the stain remover and a soft toothbrush. Be sure the plug is in the drain. Final brush under running water and dry using a hair dryer under a low setting.
