I can clean sing with a good range, and I can do death metal growls and screams.

I have a 7 string guitar with intonation set for BEADGBE, and a 6 string guitar with intonation set for CGCFAD. I can hold rhythm and sing simultaneously very well, and I can also solo.

7 string guitars in standard tuning kick ass. You can play regularly tuned songs and if the song permits you can throw in some low chords to change it up, add a bit. Its like a 5 string bass, doesn't necessarily need to be used for low downtuned stuff, you can play standard tuned stuff and spice it up with lower notes.
