I plan on building a Home Theatre PC to sit beside my TV in my living room, and I tought I would ask for some comments. My requirements are that it be low power consumption and on the quiet side.

Here are some of the components I am considering:

Antec Fusion Remote Black HTPC Case mATX 1X5.25 2X3.5INT No PS with LCD Volume Control & Remote

ASUS P5N7A-VM mATX LGA775 nForce 730I/GF9300 DDR2 PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI SATA HDMI DVI VGA Motherboard

OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-800 CL5-5-5-18 DDR2 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit

I already have an Antec 450 watt power supply and a 1TB Seagate Hard drive. I also have an analog Hauppauge PVR-500 that I will upgrade to a digital TV tuner soon.

I was wondering what you would suggest for a CPU?

This PC would be serving up music ripped videos and stream media from the Internet. I probably won't do any video conversion for ripping on this PC as that will occur on another PC. I would not be gaming on this PC...

I also would require a cordless keyboard with a built in touch pad for a mouse.

My target budget is $500 to $600..

an amd build would prob be cheaper. if you get a board with a 780g chipset they have dvi, vga, and hdmi onboard. im using the onboard on a 790GX chipset(one small step up from the 780g) and it game fantasticly and is perfectly capable of 1080p output. couple that with a cheap phenom tricore or even a dual core and your rockin to go.

Asus M3A78-EM

AMD 710 tricore

keep the rest of your listed hardware and your good to go.
