And all men who have been married, and had kids, should not be allowed to start any new family until they have paid for their share of the first one. And since the wife had to stay home to cook and clean, then he should have to pay to support her, too, right?

I am with you. i am not as old as you, but i have been working since i was 13. My parents never gave us anything so if i wanted a new bike or a sega then i had to buy it for myself. When i came home one day complaining that i didn't like my job, my dad said to me "sometimes you gotta do a job that you don't like doing, but do everythign you do to the best of your ability. If you do something and it has your name attached to it make sure that your proud to say your name is attached to it" the only time i didn't work was when i was on mat leave.
