They NEVER have the schedule done on time and it goes from week to week so he never knows what he's working the following week until Friday afternoon and even then he still has to check Sunday to make sure they haven't changed it. Pisses me off cause we can't plan anything!!! and I mean not even a freaking doctors appointment.

sorry to hear that...i have been on a 12 hr schedule for 12 years
with your hubby it will take a bit more seniority to get a regular schedule

Apparently the whole cold mill is like that. He's been there for 3 1/2 years now.

sometimes it takes that long, if you are junior man and nobody comes in behind you you stay at the bottom.

I understand that but the schedule is like that for all of his crew no matter if they have been there for 3 years or 30 years.

OK THAT MILL HAS BEEN FLUCTUATING IN TURNS FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW..FOR A LONG TIME IT WAS OPERATING ON 20 TURNS, WHICH MEANT IT WAS ONLY DOWN ONE SHIFT ON SUNDAY...GOOD THAT WAY , IN THAT THE SCHEDULE WAS CONSISTANT...NOW THE MILL IS ON 10 TURNS...SO MANPOWER WAS CUT WAY BACK...WEEK 31...JULY 27-AUG 3 THE ENTIRE COLD MILL WILL BE DOWN...JULY -AUG HAVE TRADITIONALLY BEEN SLOW MONTHS....SO THIS IS NOT NEW..IT IS FRUSTRATING BUT UNFORTUNATELY
THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS TRANSFERRING AND....MORE SENIORITY....GOOD LUCK ( THE COLD MILL IS A GOOD PLACE TO WORK THOUGH....I LIKE IT ANYWAY LOL0

OH YEAH EVERYBODY LIKES TO HAVE REGULARITY IN THEIR LIVES...I REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST STARTED, MECHANICAL HAD TO FOLLOW THE ROLLING TURNS AT THE OLD 46 MILL...PLATE AND STRIP....SPLIT DAYS OFF...LIKE TUESDAY -FRIDAY...AND ALL THREE SHIFTS IN THE SAME WEEK...THAT REALLY BLEW...
