Saw this beauty on the side of 17 just South of Frater on Victoria day. He just went waltzing past the car and I figured I'd take advantage of the opportunity and take a few shots of him...

Lucky you. Not that many can get a photo of a wolf, and you had one just literally drop in your lap like that...and you had camera gear along. Nice.

Thanks everyone! And yea ranma k, he was HUGE, but so docile- I was amazed at the length and height he had. And by the way, if any of you see him, he likes Timmie's Trail Mix cookies...lmao

Yea kitca, a transport had made a little swerve ahead of us, so we knew something had to be around up there. He was walking literally down the side of the road, maybe he knows not to play in traffic, hehe.

Well aren't you the lucky one!! Awesome pics, I have been patiently waiting to run in to some sort of wild life in the bush! I'd even settle for side of the road if I have to. I haven't been as lucky as you :( Maybe this weekend

Aww lizzardskills, I've been in the Soo for over two years and have seen more wildlife in the past week than I have in all the time I've been here. We saw a huge bear cross in front of us on Great Northern Road tonite down by the car dealerships. Took a ride to St Joe's on Wednesday and saw a ton of deer, sandhill cranes and some little foxes that were playing on the road, one of which came right over to the car door. And Monday when we saw that wolf, we had a moose cross in front of us too. I guess we've been magnets for animals lately, it been weird.

I've been in the bush and haven't seen a thing! Except partridge and a few chippys. I'm hoping to run into a bear lol At least I should have some fish to bribe it with if need be.

I don't know if I'd be too keen on running into a bear in the bush- What happens if you run out of fish? lmao this Upstate NY girl is a scaredy cat!!!

I have never seen a wolf up close like that. All the pictures I have seen have been taken from a distance. Thanks for posting them. I downloaded a few and put it into my wildlife folder.:dog:

BTW I have seen a wolf up close and I forgot. But the poor thing was caged at Bellvue park, when they had the animals there. Many years ago.

We take drives a lot looking for wildlife and we always have the camera with us. Anyone who knows me, knows that I'd been whining that I wanted to see a moose and a bear for over two years since I moved here. This year I finally saw both! Mr or Mrs wolf was a huge bonus for me... :)

I wanted to take pictures of the wolf but didn't want to be dinner. lol

My friends at work loved the photos and complimented. Fantastic job Fyre.
