is it possible for someone other than myself to call in and up my service just to be a ***** and make me pay more?
i haven't seen my bill yet, but have noticed the increase in speed within the last couple weeks

seeing as shaw does not offer a 32mb service i think your safe. probably something cached, unless you can turn those results every time. in which case im going to call and complain about being so slow!!!

They up it from 5 MB to 7 MB and added speed boost. It's the speed boost that's giving you the high speeds on the test.
Try someething like http://www.vianet.ca/speedtest.php and use the 100MB or 1024 MB file.
and see what you get after it's ran a while.

You don't need to open it just save it.

It will start out fast and then slow down to you normal download speed. After it slows down is your real speed.

You need to wait longer... the first 40MB or so are unrestricted giving you the full speed of the cable connection, after that it gets limited down to the regular speeds... so check it around 60 to 80MB and see what the speeds are, 20 is too soon as its still on the boost. The speed boost really distorts the actual speeds... On high speed you should be around 900KB/s (7500kbps) and extreme is about 1.8MB/s (15000kbps).

So it's a bad thing to have the first 40 meg downloaded faster? In my mind, it's the end result. I'd want the 1gig in less than 10 minutes, rather than 15.
