my best advise is keep calling the cops ..they wont show up for hours but if you keep calling and calling they will finally give them a ticket/fine ..just over a $100.00 .....don't worry about their feelings ..they dont care about yours or any one else's so why should you care about them ..remember their dog owners they dont think like rest of us. Live with animals means they become one and they live like animals do.

Jumba...if they are great people just go over to the house and tell them that their barking dog is keeping your daughter up at night. They should be responsible for their dog. If mine is out going potty at night and starts to bark, I get his butt in the house immediately. Just try talking to them and letting them know nicely that it is problem that needs to be fixed.

speaking of fixed, Macs are you fixed? lol

There are about 10 barking dogs(including our own) every night around my place. I can't sleep without the window closed!! But its the little yappy one down the road thats the most annoying. Throw him a big steak, that should keep him busy for a little while, lol

I don't agree with barking dogs all night long including my own dog. I find it very rude to allow a dog to bark during the night outside. It disturbs others. Some may be ill and trying to get some rest, some may have to work early, some are babies or small children that have a low tolerance for that noise, some just want peace. I don't live in a busy neighborhood because I like the quiet.

Not trying to judge you. I just have a different opinion.

Just go over and ask them to do something about it, be nice about it so that the ball is now in their court. Now if they do something about it all is fine and if they don't call the cops every time it gets to you. Anyone with at least one active brain cell would try to solve this as to not be bothering the neighbors as odds are you're not the only one who is.

Our neighbors aren't in very close proximity, but we can still here dogs from down the road. Everyone who has a dog outside in our neighborhood has them out for a reason and that is to keep bears and other animals away.

How could their dog barking not bother them...hell if my dog barks for no reason it drives me nuts....and she's partially deaf..she gets told to shuuuush!!! Cause I don't want to annoy my neighbours..

i feel sorry for the dogs who are doing the barking. they are bored or anxious or lonely or all of it. it is also terrible for neighbours to have to listen too.

macs - did you make those weenie roasters yourself? i love them, i want to get a set!

I once lived in a duplex in an upstairs apartment. My new neighbours downstairs had a poodle, which they claimed was the quietest dog on the planet. I am home all day in the summer and that dog whined and barked constantly from the time they left at 8am until they pulled in the driveway at 5pm.

I called my landlord, talked to the people downstairs and they would not believe me that their 'quiet' little dog was doing this. Finally after 2 weeks I was going insane and could not even be in my apartment during the day. I put a tape cassette in my stereo and put it on 'record' until the tape ran out. I gave my landlord 90 minutes of continuous barking/whining without even using an external microphone. It also served as my two months notice to leave.

Dogs do not belong in apartment buildings and do not deserve to be left alone locked in a house or yard for hours on end without company. If you don't have time for a dog, don't have a dog.

To me theres nothing sadder than to see a dog who is tied up and ignored other than for its food and water.

I totally agree, and that is where I would put my foot down. First I would plead my case with my neighbors, politely. On the flip side, if these were the type neighbors that left their pet outside 24/7, I wouldn't have any second thoughts of reporting them for a barking dog. There's obviously a reason for the dog barking, lack of attention.

Actually there are plenty of owners who think that they honestly have a quiet dog for the simple reason they do, as long as they are home. But once the dog is alone it barks it's head off for the lack of something to do. I had a dog that would go months between barks and I'd have sworn was a quiet dog till years after she died the man out back told me that he knew which shift I was on by how the dog would bark for about 10 minutes after I left. When asked why he never complained his response was that she was a sweetheart and he didn't want to get her in trouble ans she would stop after about 10 minutes any how."

Awwwwwww. That is reasonable. A dog barking for a few minutes is OK but some bark off and on all night long. That is annoying as hell.

How can you people be so cruel, don't you know that dogs are Gods little creatures and should be allowed freely to express themselves with barking. Keep in mind that dog spelled backwards is God. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
