Just wondering if any of you are experienced with cropping something out of a photo, and then filling the cropped space to look like the rest of the background?

I have a photo of a dog with her owner behind, (on a dock with water in the background) and would just like the dog in the photo. You'd have to re-create the water where the owner was sitting.

If it would be easier, can you just cut the dog out and put it into a photo with a solid background?

This is just to give you an idea of what the photo looks like. I could email you a clearer version if that would help?

Put the picture up for you. Maybe someone will come along and fix it for you.

Nice Job MK II. I would get rid of the white ladder handles too. They are distracting.

That is cool.
I want to learn how to use Photoshop.
I just got it.
I opened it, looked at it, and closed it again because I have no clue how to use it.

I will have to get a dummies book or something.

If anybody has any Photoshop questions maybe I can help. I've been working on learning it for the past couple of years now and can get around fairly quickly. Once you understand the concepts used in the program, then it's just a case of learning the right tools to use and then practice, practice, practice. The problem (with the suite) is that there are so many sub programs that get into specialty areas that it confuses people. The basics can be learned fairly quickly if you learn a few simple rules which will improve the quality of your photographs by 100% almost immediately.

I want to know how to remove the background like was done in this picture.
Or if I just wantd to take the dog out... just the dog... so I could super impose him on another picture.
How would I do that?
Those are just some general questions I have.
I really do need to get a book.
