Has Shaw recently upgraded their network in SSM or something?

For some reason my speeds are rather insane...

And to ensure Speedboost is not skewing the results to much, I grabbed the 1 gig file. (In less than 10 minutes)

I have Shaw normal highspeed and tested my download speeds through Speedtest.net.

Using Iron Mountain as the test server, my download speed was 6-7 Mb/s, but using a different server (MN), the download speed was 17 Mb/s.

What gives?

I believe they may finally be bringing in docsis 3.0.....woohoo, docsis 3.0 has alot more bandwidth to put out resulting in the cable companies giving the customer a little more. It's also going to mean soon we will be able to get 100mbit cable connections with 5mbit upload. But I don't know I read the current modems won't support docsis 3.0, but who knows. I do get a constant 7.5-7.6 mbit though on the 1024mb file from Vianet. The picture shows high speed @ 7.5mbps. I just have regular high speed.
$249.95

thats nice and all, but with a 100gb/month bandwidth limit i say that sucks ass. With those speeds i could chew through that in 2 days tops lol.

I thought I mentioned this a long time ago ... I still see the "50% boost" thread still going.

Your speeds look like mine have since the boost.
