So, I've noticed many different musical tastes on the board. Dunno if this has been a thread on here, but name you favorite bands and/or favorite albums as well, and throw in your favorite musicians too. This should be interesting!

Hard to narrow down, but here are my faves:
Pantera-Cowboys From Hell
Metallica- Kill Em All OR Ride the Lightening (both spectacular)
Slayer- Show No Mercy (hard to pick just one)
Megadeth-Rust in Peace-Cryptic Writings-United Abominations

So many more...those are top for now. As for musicians, Dimebag Darrell, Alexi Laiho, Cliff Burton, Tony Kakko. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Good stuff there for sure. I like everything you posted, but my heart is with Sabbath of old. The first five albums to be exact. After that they were great but those five are some of the best music to my ears.

Other albums and artists:

Ozzy - Diary of a Madman is my fav but it’s all good (except The Ultimate sin which is fair at best)

Type O Negative - I like almost everything though their last album was a disappointment

I have to agree with Kill 'em All my fav Matelica Album and its a toss up between Cowboys and Vulgar display of power for Pantera.

Mountain - Leslie West has a dynamite guitar style

Frank Zappa - The guy was an absolute genius. Some stuff is un-listenable-to-able but some is incredible and he wrote every note for every instrument. Great stuff

Old Cooper - Killer, Love it to Death, Billion Dollar Babies, Welcome to my Nightmare great albums.

There’s more but that’s the stuff that comes to mind.

Yeah, Pantera is definitely a toss up between Cowboys, Vulgar and Trendkill, those are my favorite albums. It's even hard to narrow Metallica down, haha!
Everything Cannibal Corpse has done is awesome! Fisher rules.

hahah Lightening, babe you kill me :P

i'm a metalhead through and through, wether it be Priest and Maiden or Decapitated and Cannibal Corpse. Old school thrash like Exodus, Annihilator, Testament, Hirax, Faith or Fear, plus the gothenburg sound like The Haunted, Children of Bodom, In Flames, and Soilwork.

Speakin of gothenburg, its really a shamme what happened to Soilwork and In Flames, their last few albums were friggin terrible.

I also dig a bunch of power metal like Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Simergy and At Vance.

Man i could go on for days. I basiucally love bands that have heavy shreddy guitars, but the singing has to be well done, no matter what style.

In general, I'm into newer Metal. Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Cannibal Corpse (ok, they're not too new), KoRn, Fear Factory, etc.

I also have a weak spot for good soft Rock, mainly Pilate/Pilotspeed, Radiohead, and Snow Patrol.

And a bit of My Chemical Romance (they are NOT emo) and Fall Out Boy (ok, they're emo).

Of course, I have both their major label CDs, and they're quite good. But they are not emo. They used to be, I'll be the first to admit. But have you read the lyrics to The Black Parade? Have you heard the music? They didn't change to avoid the emo label, they just evolved.

But anyways, labels don't matter, only music does.
