View Full Version : Debit, Credit, 911 Down (maybe long distance too?)

Debit card, credit card and 911 service is apparently down across the city.

I wonder if long distance calls are screwed up too? I have a VOIP phone so I can't test that...

Wasn't it this time last year that the fibre optic line out at the end of Trunk Road was cut, which caused the same effects as we're seeing today?

Likewise. After giving it 6 hours, I called Bell. I asked the fellow on the other end of the phone to check if the service was down in my area. He insisted that I give my account number 5 times, started his checklist for useless things for me to do etc. After 15 minutes of gentle arguing with him, he told me the service was down lol.

Got to love Bell.

And Tutones..to think our pension plan now owns a majority share lol.

Bells tech support isnt smart enough to do thier job without following a trouble shooting guide

Bell's tech support sounds as useful as the "helpLESS desk" at my work. I am in IT, and our "help desk" is horrible.. I feel so bad for any callers..

I could see the teachers shaping Bell up a little, they have a habit of liking their investments to make money. I know a few retired Bell guys, they are almost embarrased of what the company has become.

Last year a couple days after it went down, the same happened in Sault Michigan a couple days later. Our system for this is much too fragile in my opinion. Cut one or 2 lines and a massive criminal or terrosist undertaking could easily happen, with little options to get outside, or even inside help. Like I said its opinion, but I can't see it not being a valid one.

Scary, when the easiest person in Bell to talk to is Emily.

Their techs that come out are fast as well. Had moisture i 2 different connecters, 1 last year, 1 this. This year I called just before 5 pm and had a tech the next morning at 9 am.

Service counts for a lot.

so did you get your point across by arguing with him ?? why not give him the information that he needs and you would have had to wait a few minutes to find out it was down.

or do what Timbits neighbour did .. he asked timbit if he knows anyone with Bell that is having problems .. timbit called me .. and i was having issues .. we figured it out ourselves.

stupid ppl call tech support.

Yes, but don't forget... we also own 51% of the Maple Leafs!
And we wonder why our pension contributions are going up? /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I wondered why I had such a peaceful night, then I figured it out. Long distance was down. I didn't receive one telemarketer call. Thats a night I'll remember.

Its funny I told that to the lady that I spoke with that actually was canadian. She laughed and said I wasnt the first person to tell her that.

The call centres are in India, and she told me that I should call and complain to bell.

I recieved a survey about my customer satisfaction. As you can imagine it was not good, I stated in it that I found it extremely difficult to speak with people who cannot speak the english language. I got this survey and I still only have intermittant internet. Ya, I'm real satisfied.

The lady at bell told me that they complain all the time but if customers don't then nothing will ever get done about it.

Complain all you want, nothing will get done. Do the survey tell them you are switching companies and do it, stuff will change.
