I know the traditional use of a middle name. What about legal use for a middle name?

usually if you are named after someone the parents give the child a different middle name. It makes it easier to identify. Well I was named after my Grandmother first name, middle name and last name. Some times when I go to the pharmacy to pick up my perscriptions I will get hers instead. Legally you can drop your first name and just go by your second name.

I have 2 sons with 2 middle names and the goverment only recognizes 1 on documents and my daughter does not have a middle name...her first name is hyphenated, it really screws government forms that require a middle initial, and 1 son with 1 middle name, it makes things easy...hope that kinda helps answer your question.
My middle name is Sarah Jessica Parker

My mother gave me my own first name and my second after my nana. My kids have their own first names too and so do my grands.

My father in law has gone by his middle name his whole life. Bills come in his middle name, he signs with his middle name, the only thing that uses his first name is his work. It is legal to go by your middle name and not have to change it or pay to go by it.
