I just saw a huge wild cat run across second line by bawating...like a leopard...heading north towards the forest creek subdivision. Scared the beejezuzz out of me!!! I had no idea there were those kinds of wild animals in this area, keep your pets inside!!!

Is that what I am hearing outside!?

My dog was barking outside, yes he was outside about 20 min ago cause I am up cleaning. I heard him barking and called him in right away. I had to really convince him to come in. About 5 minutes later I was about to fold laundry and I heard this like... wierd shreik sound. I am in the Peoples Rd Area

I am so freaked out about what the noise was.... do you think that is what it is?

ETA: You posted this an hour ago... lol. Crap. It could still be the same animal though right? Maybe?

Maybe it was a lynx or bobcat or something. I can't imagine a leopard. .. Do we have courgars in this area? I wonder what it was?

We have quite a few Lynx and Bobcat in these parts. They don't normally come this close to the city though. Probably a kitten who was feeling curious and wandered in to the city.

They're just like all other wild animals. Petrified of humans. 9 times out of 10 they'll bolt the moment you open a door, yell or flick a light on. Just don't come between their kids and you're fine.

Go to sleep Yorkie :) <3

I remember when I was a kid on my parents farm in Goulais, there were big cats in heat, not sure if Bobcat or Lynx, but the sound they made was scary, I thought it was a dinosaur lol. I t was loud and chilling, that is for sure.

There's a fair number of 'Yotes around the north end of the city. If it was running and I'm guessing it was fairly dark then( 2-4 am?) a lighter coloured yote could be mistaken as a large cat.

It's not a cat, it's a black squirrel.

There are cougars in the area. Rare, but they are there. While we lived in Leeburn, there was one that shrieked ever so loudly a few nights..
